Glee Music: "Brittany/Britney"

by at . Comments

As I made clear in my review, I really disliked this week's episode of Glee. It didn't feel like anything more than a few unrelated plot developments sprinkled around a Britney Spears play list.

Making Like Britney

That said... I do love Britney Spears songs! I wish there had been more of an organic feel to their use on the episode, but I've already downloaded a bunch of covers from last night. Browse through them in our Glee music section and check out the selections below:

The ratings just came in. This episode gathered 13,3 million viewers, 4% more than the 1st episode of Season. The highest ratings so far for this show. Britney being one the most popular pop singer and icon in her own right, I do expect double viewers than the first episode. Season 2 episode 1 gathered 20% more viewers compare from Season 1. This second episode gathered only 4% added from the first episodes 20%. This is not high considering they promoted Brittany/Britney episode much, much more and way ahead before the Episode 1 even began. Honestly, I expected a much more higher percentage. Think how much money they are paying for these big names to use their songs and their few seconds cameo role for the show. If not for Britneys name the storyline of this episode was so flat. It´s too boring! Only the songs are flattering. If we are going to analyze it, the show is actually "successful and even cheaper" if they concentrate to write a good story, a good dialoge lines and bring back Chord Overstreet and Charice to open the story of rivalry, to begin with.

Glee Quotes

Rachel: This is what I wanted!
Sam: No, what you wanted was a second chance to get it right and Carmen just gave it to you. If you throw all that away you're going to be making the same mistake all over again

Finn: I seem to recall a rumor about a certain cheerleading coach at this school who once took horse estrogen and posed for Penthouse back in the day. So maybe I can just track that down and make a few copies and sell those to raise money for Regionals.
Sue: That's nothing but a rumor. But if that rumor were true, my Penthouse centerfold so groundbreaking that it completely redefined the term 'hirsute,' and gave birth unto these United States a pose so limber they named it the Regal American Not-So-Bald Spread Eagle, I promise you, my friend, you would never find it.
