I cried all the way !!! This was traumatising since I didn't watch the season 6 finals since it ended.... To re-watch this all over again was painfull with the flashbacks... But I'm sooo glad for Owen and Cristina !!!! It brought tears to my eyes !!! Mer was hot !!! lol ! And Derek...alala Der... what is wrong with him lol ! Oh and Miranda, poor her with her guy... The love triangle Mark/Lexie/Alex man I can't wait to see how it'll go. She finally told Alex about him calling Izzie when he was in pain. But I couldn't believe he walked away when she went all crazy and stuff...
Chief Weber was so funny when he was making the victry dance in the office loool !!!
Mer.. and her miscarriage... It's hard, really... I wonder how all this will go...
Cristina gave me goosebumps in the apartment when she was so afraid of being alone...
Miranda too when she said how sorry she was for the loss of the Mercy-westers' friend...
Calzona sooo funny !!! "Pop the bubble !" Turned out the bubble wasn'

Donna and others: two of the songs featured in this last week's episode of Grey's Anatomy were: "Thistle and Weeds" by Mumford and Sons and "Backed Into The Corner" by Amy Stroup.

I think the writers were a bit lazy and used the shooting as an excuse to make sweeping changes to certain characters' storylines that weren't working out as well as they had hoped. Last season's final episode was so well written and I was hoping that they were going to pick up where it left off, but because they chose to begin the new season one month later, some of the storylines seemed abrupt, awkward and out-of-character. That being said, I'll still be tuning in to see what happens next ;)

That song that plays the "rain down on me" one during one of Derek's montages is by and it's called Thistle & Weeds

I thought it was pretty good but I was disappointed in the writing for Derek (Patrick Dempsey). Three scenes of him speeding, which two looked like the same scenes, was a bit too much. I didn't like the flashback scene with him in the hospital with April sitting at his bedside. We didn't get a scene with him and Meredith at his bedside in the finale which was surely absent. Then in the opener the scene is with April??? I guess they had to put her in somewhere. That scene should have been reserved for Meredith. She might be understanding him more if he had told Meredith about feeling guilty that all those people being shot and feeling responsible for it. Then the scene where Derek quits being Chief was really bad, not because of the actors but because of poor writing. There are so many great scenarios that could have been with Derek handing back the reins to the Chief, really touching scenes that would have been great with the both of them but another opportunity lost with bad

Meredith's narrative at the end: When we say things like, “People don’t change,” it drives scientists crazy. Because change is literally the only constant in all of science. Energy, matter, it’s always changing. Morphing, merging, growing, dying. It’s the way people try not to change that’s unnatural. The way we cling to what things were, instead of letting them be what they are. The way we cling to old memories instead of forming new ones. The way we insist on believing despite every scientific indication that anything in this lifetime is permanent. Change is constant. How we experience change, that’s up to us. It can feel like death or it can feel like a second chance at life. If we open our fingers, loosen our grips, go with it, it can feel like pure adrenaline. Like at any moment we can have another chance at life. Like at any moment we can born all over again.

I love the show but is Izzie coming back. I hope so because she was a cast favorite and one of the reasons why I really wanted to stay tuned for this new season.

I loved it. Of course Cristina isn't old Cristina--she had a gun parked against her head, death hanging over her as she did the thing she loves the most (surgery). I may not like what I see, but I get it...and it's very, very sad. She'll come around but it'll take time. My favorite line had to be Meredith telling Cristina "Derek's the love of my life, but you're my soul mate."
