What happen to Danny' s old partner on blue bloods?? Why is she no longer on the show??

For several episodes I've been wondering who will take the fall in the blue templar arc. All characters seemed likeable. Lo and behold an ex-cop, unlikeable DA is introduced. I think we have our evil doer.
Frank: I think he did the right thing no matter the consequences.
