Edward James Olmos will play a critical role on season six of Dexter, portraying a serial killer who piques the interest of a certain blood splatter expert.

In this first look at the September premiere, we gave a vague idea of the sort of crimes committed by Olmos' Professor Gellar.

The image above depicts the first "mysterious kill linked to Gellar that’s going to cross Dexter’s path," Producer Scott Buck tells Entertainment Weekly. "This is a person who’s sending out a message, and Dexter can’t wait to figure out what that message is.”

Apparently, though, it involves... baby snakes?!?

The latest issue of EW, available on newsstands this Friday, will give readers another sneak peek at season six.
