Games of Thrones Season 2 Scoop: Dragons, Battles to Come!

by at . Comments

Yes, Games of Thrones just concluded its first season. (In what exhilarating manner? Read our review of "Fire and Blood" now!)

But it's never too early for scoop on season two, is it? That's what we thought.

In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, David Benioff and D.B. Weiss offered up a few spoilers and tidbits about what viewers can expect to see when the series returns in the spring of 2012...

Will we see flashbacks of characters interacting with Ned? "A lot of those [book] flashbacks take place years ago, and Sean’s stuntman looks uncannily like a young Sean Bean, so that may work." - Weiss

Will we see a big battle? We'd "much rather have a great scene with our characters than a crappy version of [a] battle. We want to have some great battles, we’re working very hard to have great battles in season two. We’d like to have more direwolves too." - Benioff

Give us a season two tease: "We have dragons, we have direwolves growing, we have massive battles. Despite the various character deaths, we have a growing cast of characters." - Benioff

Indeed, expect a series of casting announcements soon. Game of Thrones starts shooting again on July 25, meaning characters from George R.R. Martin's second book - such as Stannis Baratheon, Balon Greyjoy and Melisandre - will be cast any day now.

@Daniela I hope you are good at dealing with disappointment, because none of what you wish for will happen.

I hope that Jaime and Cersei Lannister get what they diserves for their incestuos affair, trying to kill the Stark family, for hurting Joffry and his sibblings from hiding the truth that are they are uncle Jaime´s bastard children born from the dispicable incest relationship with Cersei. they both deserve to die and Joffrey and his sibblings will spared and be adopted and guide by Lady Stark. I also hope Daenerys has hope in falling love with a kindhearted and handsome young man like Khal Drogo was,she diserves to be happy.

Now - between series - is the perfect opportunity to read the next 4 soon to be 5 books - then nothing need be spoilered

Given that we are now all reading 'A Clash of a King,' then we are all considered reading spoilers. That said, we hope there's some creative directions.
