Charlie Sheen Confirms Plans for Anger Management-Inspired Sitcom
There's no premiere date, no network and no show runner attached to the series.
But Charlie Sheen is headed back to television.
The actor has released a statement that confirms plans to star in a sitcom based on the 2003 comedy Anger Management, which featured Adam Sandler and Jack Nicholson. The former Two and a Half Men actor will take on a role similar to Nicholson's in the movie: a therapist in charge of an anger management class, who possesses temper problems of his own.
"I chose Anger Management because, while it might be a big stretch for me to play a guy with serious anger management issues, I think it is a great concept," Sheen told said. "It also provides me with real ownership in the series, a certain amount of creative control and the chance to be back in business with one of my favorite movie producers of all time, Joe Roth."
Roth also worked with Sheen on such big screen favorites as Young Guns and Major League.
