Game of Thrones Casting Scoop: Gwendoline Christie as Brienne
Game of Thrones has cast Brienne.
The character, mocked in the books as "Brienne the Beauty," serves the late king's brother and is a fan favorite due to her skills with a sword and dream of being a knight.
She'll be portrayed by British actress Gwendoline Christie, a relative unknown who appeared in The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus. George R.R. Martin himself made the casting announcement on his blog.
Late last month, Natalie Dormer was also added to Game of Thrones in the role of Margaery Tyrell.
