I hate Owen. He is boring and is not a leader. The chief is the only chief for me while he is on Grey's. Owen as chief is stupid. I'd rather see Bailey. I hope he bogs himself in paperwork and rides into the sunset with Teddy. Hope Cristina dumps him after the way he treated her at the end. Whatever they decide with the baby gives him no right to throw her out of her own house.

Again, another terrible idea. I don't want to see Owen as Chief. It should have been Bailey and Owen could have been in the background.

IMO. it was the other way round. Meredith is the one who always disliked Owen and never respected him as Cristina' husband. Also Meredith brought all the crap to herself, since she is the one who screwed up everything and IMO she has never been a good friend to Cristina. It's always me me me. So I hope Owen puts her in her place.

Don't like this development but understand why the Chief lost his job(again). I have never cared for Owen and liked him even less when he threw Cristina out of her own house. Besides, when did Owen officially get over his PSTD? That seemed pretty miraculous too.
I was hoping for Bailey, but when it wasn't her I was glad to hear it was Owen, because he seems to take his job most seriously of all the attendings.
I would've mad if it was Mark or Derek, because Mark's not responsible enough and Derek's all over the place, now with his Alzheimer trial and all.
While Derek and Mark focus on becoming famous for their work and doing something huge, Bailey and Owen focus on saving people in the heat of the moment, without expecting praise.

Bailey would have been better, i'm just glad it isn't Mark LOL ... As long as he didn't get it i'm good. He has to raise his child and get the love of his life back, He'll have no time to become COS... But i don't see how this is bad for Meredith? if anything this might not be good for Cristina.

Owen will be a very good Chief. Why Bailey? She has been an attending for two years! They are not enough for a Chief!
And by the way, at least Owen is honest with Meredith and he will not let her make any more mistakes. If I were a pacient, I wouldn´t let Meredith be my doctor.

Sorry, I don't buy Owen as Chief, never will, while I understand the Chiefs decision, the Chief is the Chief. Let's not forget Hunt is a newbie he hasn't earned the respect from the Doctors and Nurses. Very disappointed with this decision.
it would have been a good twist to bring Burke back into that position!!!

I'm happy for Owen and all, but I really hoped it was Bailey. I know that she hasn't been an attending as long as the others, but I just feel she would be a perfect Chief of Surgery.

She's missing for the longest part of the episodes but whenever someone's in trouble she's the one who saves their asses!

owen will be a good leader but I think he rose through the ranks rather quickly as in his private life. he seems in every respect but I do not forget its past. one can deduce that Cristina will not keep her child and her relationship with Owen will be rushed. Meredith still has once again crossed the line by mixing the sustainability of clinical trials Derek. Owen is right to disapprove of the relationship between Meredith and Cristina. cristina should make their own personal choices and grow instead of following the guidelines of meredith.

Why would he make Bailey, Chef? She just got promoted to attending,that would not make sense. The hospital needs someone older and who has been around longer. I think Hunt will do a fantastic job...and I hope he puts mer in her place...I mean she has had so many screw ups, and she is still a doctor. What is that all about?

Honestly, I think Owen will be a good chief but I also hope it pushes him out of the spot light. I hope Derek and Meredith figure out their relationship. I mean no offense to Owen but he has been a jerk to Meredith and is not the most supportive individual. I think that is where Derek made a better chief, but I hope either way that Derek and Meredith are still together at the end of the season, even if it is the last season.

Good for Owen. Now, here's the thing...it should be Bailey. But remember back in Season 3 when the Chief was stepping down because he wants to spend more time with Adele? And the position is between Derek, Burke, Mark and Addison? Remember how the Chief told Bailey that she would be Chief but someone has to do it first because she was still resident then and now that she's an attending? Owen and the others are still ahead of her when it comes to being an attending.
Anyway, I think he'll be good at it. It can't be Derek again. Not Mark. Not Callie 'cause she didn't do so well when she was Chief Resident. Can't be Teddy or Arizona either, pretty new. So it's Owen, he did decide who the new Chief Resident is. I don't like his choice but I think he would be great.
As for Cristina, he kicked her out. And maybe she'll like having him in charge. Nepotism and all that.
Can't wait for the new season. I hope the show doesn't do an ER thing. Oh and Lexie can't be the Gre

THIS IS SUCH CRAP!!! I mean...Shonda is a one hit wonder and that one hit is out of fashion. I can't believe that she would not make Bailey Chief. I am almost at the point where I am not going to watch. I think they need to end the show. It's time. All it is now is a glorified soap opera. And not even a good one at that. Shame

This is ridiculous. It should have been Bayley. Why would it not be her? She is an orginal, she is the best and everyone loves and respects her.

I was wondering how the chief could be looking after his wife and be managing the chief of surgery job. Also the hospital board will be less than happy the chief's involvement in the clinical trial fallout. No surprise that Hunt is made chief. I'm more hopeful that Kepner will choose trauma surgery too, perhaps Hunt will be her new crush! Hunt has always just tolerated Mer, I think he just sees Mer as too big an influence on Cris. He could do with following Der's way of deal with MerCris friendship. Hunt has clashed with Mer several times: the very overweight man's surgerry, he sent Mer out of the surgery. When Mer did the extra stitches Hunt told her not to do on a patient( the Cris fishing episode) he sent Mer out of the OR.

I find myself getting less and less interested in season eight as news comes out. I thought Rhimes said she was going to concentrate more on the originals? I have not heard much about Cristina, Alex, Bailey, Derek and Meredith. I think Owen has always been jealous and slightly threatened by Cris' relationship with Meredith.I think it will take him some time to come to terms with it just like Derek did. After Owen and Meredith's big fight they never had any resolution that we saw. But I suspect we are supposed to be over it. In the episode where Meredith ran the OR there was a brief moment between them where he told her good job or something.
