One of the big differences between these angels and the original: The contract i was tolod stipulated they had to be braless.
These girls did not apprear to be braless. So it was less titalating.

Gosh I watched it just to see how bad it really was and as bad as it was most of it can be fixed.
First of all Bosley (the guy is sexy) like i'd watch it again just to see him do his thing and his acting is actually good (side note: he was also on transformers)

Secondly the angels, Rachel is Ok, she does the best with what the writers have given her, I ended up feeling sorry for her cause she was really trying. Minka is bad, she reminded me of a bad version of Leighton Meester. And then the 3rd chick, like she was more convincing than Minka but bad nonetheless, I kept wondering if these girls actually auditioned or if they were just asked to prance around in their bathing suits...

Thirdly the dialogue, the script like it was so bad that I stopped rolling my eyes after 10 minutes cause they were starting to hurt from all the rolling i was doing.

Suggestion would've been to just blow gloria up (forget the fake tears and dramatics), move on to the part where u find her killer,

To be honest, I love it. Yes, the storyline is dull but what's appealing are the characters. A lot of people said Minka seems stiff but her playing Eve was believeable. Even better than that Kate (sorry!). Also, what surprises me was the music (i'm saying it in a good way) i really thought I was the CW but bravo to ABC for the updated music. Hopefully it'll get better next week where the angels will be a runway models. It's must watch I guess.

Perhaps the fight scenes were better since doubles did the fighting. Looks like they might need to try doubles for some of the acting. Many of the scenes were not played as dramatic as they could have been played for the serious problems the angels encountered. Maybe it will be better next week.

I thought the episode was really silly. I'm mean i am all for girl power and all that but if the entire series will be so fluff that I am going off it from now. (plus its a bit insulting that a 'girl power' themed series is so fluff)
(and I will be using the world fluff a lot because honestly its the best description for the pilot)

Good points were: the fight scenes and some of the clothes. and Bosney or whatever he's called. (by the next episode i'll get the name right) it's an interesting take on the character and I really hope he is not gay because it can create some story lines between him and the girls.

Bad: The acting. There was hardly any chemistry between the actresses (yes, I am being specific) .
Two: the dialogue could have been much better and less fluff. If the writers are sticking to the original style of the series that they nailed it but shame that we're not the same audience as back then. The Writers should get with the times.
Third and finally, no drama. I

wasn't eve interested from the previews...even though I love Modern Family!

  7. Hugh

    This show is great.

Its not as good as Burn Notice, but it will do.
    Fun and action packed.

I never saw the original show, just the movies, and I found them enjoyable and entertaining, and the acting was good. So I had expectations for this pilot.

I was bored after five minutes.
The dialogue and the acting when Gloria got blown up was forced, and they showed no emotion. Here's this girl who is supposed to be like a sister to them, and they respond with robotic tears!!
Eve is the only one who made me feel like she cared, contrary to the other two.
The fight were good, I have to at least acknowledge that!
But, the storylines aren't that appealing.

So, all in all, if the next episode doesn't get better, I'm taking this off my "watch-list" (which probably give me more time to study XD)

  9. Libay

    It really sucked.

I love the make-up, the outfits and Miami! The girls are gorgeous! That blonde girl was the hacker in the 1st Transformer movie, right?

I hate the villainous past of the characters (i was slightly taken aback when they were introduced). The whole team didn't clicked. I hate the whole script writing, the lines, the story... it's so boring.

I was expecting more like the Movie version where they exaggerates all the fight. it was funny, girl-power action and fast.

There’s an old saying that goes: THERE’S NOTHING LIKE THE ORGINAL. This is (so) true with the 2011 version of “Charlie’s Angels”. All in all the premier episode was alright – but it will NEVER become as p[opular as the one from 1976. The main reason for the original’s success was of course Farrah Fawcett. Nobody will ever be able to replace her. She was one in a million – now wait, make that one in a billion. Rachael Taylor doesn’t even come close.

I will still watch the show however -but- it will NEVER be like the original angels. Sorry Charlie!

oh and i absolutely agree that they should not have made them into full blown criminals, the movies of charlie's angels put a modern enough spin on how they became angels without turning them into bad guys. they were just kind of lost souls without a specific purpose (except lucy liou's character but still).

but i do like that bosley kicks ass now, and i disagree, making him gay would be too cliche, plus it would leave all the WOMEN without a man to lust ofter.

And i really don't like the blond one, i don't know her name, she just seems so cold and fake for me. (i mean the actress not the character)

this show will never be as good as the old one or as exciting and fun as the two movies were.

i am not sure if i like it, sort of both like and dislike at the same time.
all charlie voice thing sounded cheesy for me, i like the visual and action scenes but the dialogues were cliche and cheesy for me.
i am going to give it a couple of more tries but i am not sure where it's going for me

It was a little bit soapy for my liking. The scene after the car bombing was a bit too over dramatic I felt but somehow still lacked that emotion. It's a shame because I was really hoping this show would do well. In a big Rachel Taylor fan and she's a great actress but this show doesn't really show that. There was also something a bit off with charlies voice which irritated me

  15. Susan

Was it suppose to be campy? Or was it just bad writing? Or was the acting really that bad?

Terrible show. I don't think it will last, it will be gone by Christmas break.

Watched it and found it to be really bad. Think ABC paid too much for the show. If next episode isn't any better it is goodbye for me. Also didn't like the voice of "Charlie" .

  17. Elizabeth

My first thought was that the writing was terrible. I liked Minka Kelly on Friday Night Lights, but this was just bad. I have no idea if these women can act. There's no wit, no depth, no believable emotion. Ugh.

made it as far as the group hug after the bombing

  19. Janis

This show is really really bad in a really dreary way. You can't even enjoy how bad it is because it's too flat and dead to be bad in an interesting way. The first changes they need to make are new writers and a new director. All of the acting was terrible so I have to figure this has something to do with the director. Unless this show is completely revamped, it's an insult to ask people to watch it.

  20. debbie casey

so sorry..disliked the show...useally when re makeing of an old series...one trys to be as close as possible to the "orginal"...it seemed each character was more into makeing sure they were in front of the cameras view...than actually "acting"....they seemed to much into trying to prove themselves as fighters...nothing like the orginal "ANGELS"...it was all about catching the bad guys...sorry again...but i do not like the show..will not watch it...but i wish you all luck just the same....god bless....d.c...riverside ,ca...

  21. shar

Totally agree with the reviewer. I didn't even make it past the first 20 minutes. The acting is poor, the casting is second-rate (compared to the original - won't see any "Farrahs" emerge from this crew), and it was just generally boring. Why mess with the original, and I just don't get the "thing" with Minka Kelly. Maybe her appeal has rubbed off from her time with Jeter? Don't know, don't care. Will NOT be watching again! Too bad, because I usually love the things that Drew Barrymore produces, but this is NO "Grey Gardens"!!!

  22. holly

OH my it was really bad.. sadly I also deleted the recording and watched something else.

  23. wonderwoman

agree with writer.. i really WANT to like it... but so far.. not a big fan.

  24. august

I deleted the dvr recording 30 min into the show, bad writing , acting , directing filmography.. The original show was not that great when you subtracted the raging hormones of 13 yr olds and and their fathers who watched back in late 70s and the show was pushing the edge of tv porn for the time... the same things that made the show popular in decades gone (pretty sexy risk'a lens flirtation) by is no longer valid the distraction of sexiness no longer blinds those to what was bad in the original series transcends into the new series remake... only with the current rules of tv that permit far more risky things then in the past and the exposure to internet for all. In short the show is as bad now as it truly was then when ya subtract the male hormone equation lol

I was hoping that they would do a good job with this show. I really did. I was bored and annoyed enough I was ready to change the channel 17 minutes in. All I could think was that someones very rich father had given one of his kids a camera and said here Jr. go make a tv series and that Jr went out and got all his hot friends together and remade something he saw on nick at night but with a more modern twist. It was childishly written. It was childishly acted. None of these characters were mature enough to be an Angel. In the old series as well as the movies the Angels were believable, mature (mostly) and had personalities I was interested in investing more time in getting to know. If this show lasts 4 episodes before being yanked I'll be surprised.
