SOMETIMES i pretend that Gossip Girl ended at its 2nd Season cuz honestly, I got bored with their storylines. I miss their "TRENDSETTING" looks and WTF happened to Chuck's sense of style & Blair's Hair and CONSERVATIVE clothes?! LIKE WTF?!?! the producers must remember that these characters are RICH PEOPLE and not just trying hard top label buyers. Before, we kept watching GG because of its scandalous moments that ACTUALLY MATTER like Serena's guilt when she felt she killed someone and Georgi coming out of nowhere to bring her past back, CHUCK AND BLAIR, and of course the lovely divide between the BROOKLYNITES and the UPPEREASTSIDERS. the last to seasons were a bust. ADMIT IT. im just hoping that this one will make up for the last to seasons that were a complete FAIL. I MISS GG SEASON 1 AND 2!!
Lets pray that season 5 will BE THE BEST SEASON EVVEEERR!!

This interview actually makes me think positively about the upcoming season. It's good to see them looking at individual character development, rather than just making the whole show about the romances. I'm convinced that the reason there's so much bickering between fans of different pairings is that there hasn't been anything of interest in the show apart from musical beds shenanigans for quite some time. I also believe that this is the big reason why so many viewers have deserted the show, leaving mostly people who have a partisan interest.
It'll be nice to see Gossip Girl making a substantive return and will be interesting to see how she can still be relevant to the lives of the characters now that they're away from Constance/St. Jude's. They've failed in this respect ever since S3, so hopefully they get it right this time. I'm looking forward to Dan's book storyline, which should hopefully re-cast his character as less of an insider. It would also be nice to see the show

After reading all these comments, I have a couple things to say. First I believe (from reading these comments) that Chuck and Blair were good for each other in Season 1 and 2. I have only started watching GG this season, season 4, and Chuck's actions have proved me otherwise. In this season we see Chuck being more and more possessive over Blair, to the point of punching glass behind her cutting her face. Ignoring the fact that Chuck sold Blair for a hotel and their past history, this season the CHAIR relationship is delusional. I care about Blair's happiness. If boring Dan Humphrey makes Blair truely HAPPY, I am glad for Blair. After all she's been through she needs it. Also, Blair is not all about schemes and takedowns. She has actually has other interests, she's a sucker for old romantic movies, and she loves art and fashion. I do think that both Blair and Chuck have grown up-they are not in high school anymore-and through that their relationship has soured.

I agree with Uncle Jackass that people have the right to express their opinion here and ship whatever they want.
Gossip Girl will survive maybe if they brought Michelle Trachtenberg as a regular. Georgina Sparks is an awesome character.

Personally, I think John Saffron is just casting a wide net to appease any sides of the shippers. I think its got to the point where is pretty much any combination of shippers exist except with a Vanessa or umm...Vanessa combination. Ergo, I find it funny when people use her a weapon to attach an evil endgame.
@Forwood & Chair (aka Jov), I will vouch for the ultimate outsider if necessary. I think the judgmental purpose of Dan Humphrey is to act as the soliloquy expert in a sonnet like in a Shakespeare play.
Also, I like the idea of personal grow and prospects for Dan and Serena; not romantically hopefully. We may not get any character development in the near future but plot development for career paths seems nice to focus the characters. As for Blair, I think it best not to judge, it's not a polygamy show, therefore let her relationship with Louis run it course.

So the 5th season is the final season, right? How many people here are sad about this? You know that it's the right thing to do because they're running out of material and the characters are growing up and you want it to end while it's still sort of in its hey-day, but still...
How many of you wear headbands because of Blair, or went to your stylist and asked for a blow out a la Serena Van der Woodsen, or clip out pictures of Ed, Nate or Penn out of your magazines? How many of you have a whole library of songs that you heard on Gossip Girl?
I, myself, am going to miss Blair's outfits. I'm going to miss all the new indie songs that I hear on gossip girl and anytime I hear a cool new indie song when the show's over, I'm going to think "That's so Gossip Girl!"
You can say that I like the show a little "too much" but common, you guys can't really judge. You all regularly visit this fan site, come up with cute gossip girl icons and names. You bicker over who Blair should be with. :)

Noooo Dair should not continue!!!!! Dair should have ended and never be brought up again. I don't want Blair to break up her engagement/wedding with Louis because it is inevititable, to only get together with Dan. This is like Dan going from Serena to Georgina as Blair said in season three. Dan is not fit for her. And you're wrong, this is about Chair because they are the best couple ever, the best couple on the show, the best characters on the show, the real stars of the show and they are endgame. Chair forever!!!!!!!

Looking fprward to next season, not really bothered about chair as got very dull and yes I am sick of Chuck and his very boring hotel, I also miss his snazzy outfits! Dair far more well suited.

I would only tune in to see chuck and blair all grown up and together again. they are the only decent actors with true chemistry. anything else is a filler.

Suck it Chair fans! Even if it's just a lie, at least he mentions Dair and Dair's connection ten times more than he mentions ridiculous, repetitive and unhealthy CHAIR.
