I can't wait for the next season to begin... i'm breathless with anticipation!! My guess is that when Mer and Der were being hounded by the social worker, Mer had a meltdown and messed up the adoption. So they lose Zola, and Der is besides himself and leaves Mer. Why she got fired is beyond me... Shonda never ceases to surprise us!

The picture of a desolate Meredith being supported by Alex makes me think that Mer and Zola fell into the sink hole. MAybe Zola got hurt? But Mer doesn't seem to be in a fit state to have been super doc in the sink hole!

My guess is that Mer and Cris bring Zola into the hospital cos it's Mer's first day back after her suspension. Derek is returning to work after hiding out in the woods and not answering his phone.Der hasn't realised Mer has been looking after Zola for five days. Hence a sortof family reunion.
Mer isn't allowed to start working until she's seen the chief, hence her being the only one without the ER coverall. Alex seems to have had a heart monitor reading, but he also seems to be trying to getting back into favor with Mer in one of the photos.

I have great hopes about this season , it seems as was at the beginning Mer, Cri ,Alex .I'm very happy for these choices.Mer and Zola are the best pic that i have seen...
