Charlie Sheen is officially on his way back to television.

Deadline confirms that FX beat out two other networks in a bid to land Anger Management, the series that will star Sheen as a character based on the one played by Jack Nicholson in the awful 1993 film by the same name.

"We think that Bruce Helford, Joe Roth and Charlie Sheen have come up with a wonderful, hilarious vehicle for Charlie's acting talents--and a character we are very much looking forward to seeing him play," says John Landgraf, President and General Manager of FX Networks. "Two and a Half Men has been an outstanding component of FX's schedule for the past 14 months, and we have every confidence that 'Anger Management' will soon be as well."

The series will air 10 episodes next summer, with an order for 90 more if all goes well. There's even a deal in place for syndication in 2014. Yes, FX has very high hopes for Sheen's comeback.
