Hot weather will not equate to cold episodes for The CW this summer, as the network has purchased the rights to The L.A. Complex, a primetime soap opera that premieres this Sunday on Canada's MuchMusic.

The show centers around a group of aspiring actors, dancers and musicians who live in the same Los Angeles apartment complex. Think Melrose Place for a younger generation.
The CW has acquired the six episodes that have already been produced and may pick up the final seven, airing 13 total before its fall schedule kicks in this September. Included on that schedule may be a new drama from Gossip Girl creators Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage.
