Gossip Girl Producers Dish on 2012 Premiere
With just six days to go until the long-awaited winter premiere, executive producers Joshua Safran and Sara Goodman are here to bring us up to speed on Gossip Girl in their weekly preview video.
In Monday's episode, "The End of the Affair" ...
- It's New Year's Eve, and two months have passed since the infamous crash
- Flashbacks will show what the characters have been up to in that time
- One character who has been in every episode to date will not be
- The show is "shooting out of a cannon" with this installment and launching storylines that will culminate in the 100th episode / royal wedding spectacular in two weeks (January 30).

There's a new clip of the episode "The End of the Affair" on youtube right now with Dan and Blair talking about the need to fake a happy blissful re-union with Louis and his family, friends, and the rest of the royalty at a party. Blair seems to be in rotten state and doesn't believe she can pull it off; while Dan is lecturing her about her lack of Bone and the once powerful Blair from season 1.
Thus, there are some clues that she has no intention to marry Louis, but whether by some persuasion or bribery she has to follow through the marriage. It is thus labelled as "The Secret" by Dan and Blair's conversation to protect Chuck.

@ Elena: I agree, English is not my first language either and I used mostly at work but even on a bad day I don't have those ticks.
Going back to the promo, I was thinking that they tried to create intrigue with the whole "the character that is missing for the first time". They didn't tell us if it was for the first time in season 5 or for the first time ever. If it is for the first time ever then it's definetely GG and maybe that means Serena and Nate were successful in bringing down her site?

@pty: I'm german and even I don't use "sort of" in every fucking sentence.
"We sort of did that to uhhhh ... sort of build up tension and sort of develop the characters to sort of move the story in a way that uhhhh ... sort of drives the story faster, you know?"
