Also Teddy and Christina. I absolutely love their scenes! Pretty intense!

  2. Yashvi

Mark and Lexie. They need to get backkk!!
Alex and Kepner I feel should be given a shot again.
Loved the episode. Except Webber being sneaky. That was MEAN!

This was a good episode. I agree Alex deserves is change to shine. And I loved Bailey and Ben. I love Ben he is funny. I never really like Eli but that because I love Ben.

    2) this is a minor one, but who else who is a hard-core fanatic (like, obsessive the way folks are meant to be about Star Trek or Dr. Who) totally LURVED the scene where Mer brought Zola into the gallery? I picture Meredith as a child, being brought into the gallery by Thatcher on the sly, so she could see mommy at work. I could never imagine Ellis proudly carrying a young Meredith on her hip, inviting her fellow residents to "look at this face!" In fact, I couldn't imagine that there even was a 24-7 daycare center for the staffs' children. What a great bit of subtle progress for the history of the characters' world. In fact, I could imagine, if the Chief-Karev subplot hadn't been used, the Chief sitting in the gallery with Mer and Zo, commenting on how he only remembered Mer being in the gallery when Thatcher brought her, and how happy he was to see Meredith happier in her motherhood than Ellis was in hers.
....Or am I giving the writers too much credit? :-)

On the subtle side, we have the following:
    1) Teddy and Christina. Man oh man, Christina gets Teddy more than Owen possibly ever did. Here are all the main residents calling it totally wrong, and Christina knew ALL ALONG that what Teddy was doing was using Yang as a friggin' mirror. Yang patiently served as Teddy's sounding board, doing what every family member who has ever lost a loved one on an OR table would do if they had the insight that a world-class surgeon like Teddy has. And doing it, and doing it, until Teddy... finally... got it, and understood that nothing else could have been done. Yang was willing to give Owen up early on because she sensed that Teddy understood her; two seasons later we get to understand that Christina also really, really gets Teddy.
    ....continues more....

I have to say that I loved the balance between the obvious drama/gags and the very subtle character/story development. On the obvious side, the audience was presented with the Karev-Chief interactions (come on, Alex, he's playing you! Don't you remember what he did to Hunt in season six with that supposedly inoperable cancer patient who wanted to see her daughter get married??) and Lexie's reaction to everyone's universal love of... eye-chick (and I love the bluetooth gag). Comment continues... maybe...

Hate Lexie with Derek in Neuro - Would love to see Meridith back in Neuro -And would like to see Lexie back with Mark, Alex as Chief Resident and Avery and April together. Hopefully this will all happen soon.

Loved it, the whole snapping of everyone during practice surgery, Arizona being a pain in the rear, Teddy making Cristina repeat over and over again isn't/wasn't that annoying I felt her pain of grief there...my brother was murdered in'1997 and I just read the article over and over again it was how I came to reality that he was gone forever....and Callie giving Arizona a taste of how much of a pain in the rear she was during surgery was cute...I have the biggest crush on Callie/Sara Ramirez

  9. LindaLovesTV

I agree with Natalie: Benley! I was thinking "BB".

  10. LindaLovesTV

How awesome and refreshing was Teddy's response to Christina's "I'm Sorry"... for once TV writers did not write the blame game. There was no slap across the face. Instead, Teddy gracefully reassured Christina that there was no blame to shoulder and that there was no doubt that Christina had done everything right. I wanted to hug each of them. I was not a fan of Teddy before, but now I am. I just wish the writers had not written the death of Henry.

  11. Kay

@melissa I didn't mean the checking movement. I meant that they checked one and it was fine, then they try the other and it doesn't work, so they keep going higher. And one of the doctors is like come on! Just move a bit, and then of course it does. Except it was more suspenseful last time because Derek had that whole, the nerves are too delicate I can't do it. Pretty crappy writing

  12. Natalee

Benley!for B squared. Oh and I LOVE Ben! He rocks! I LOVE Meredith and McDreamy. And I'm even happier he isn't leaving the show. I loved the scene with Teddy and Cristina. I REALLY wish that whiny-voice chic would go away. Alex should be Chief Resident. The Chief stealing procedures from Alex...CLASSIC.

  13. Good!

Their moniker should be Cash Cab, after the Emmy-Award winning game show host, Ben Bailey. Done and done.

I love Greys and get so tired of all the haters. Yes, I also hated the George/Izzy story and the Callie/Arizona story was on waaaay too much, but it's one of the shows that I go to first on my DVR. It's like people automatically disrespect all tv shows after they start off so popular. Just because a show isn't the shiny, new thing anymore doesn't mean it still isn't great!

As usual, Grey's didn't let me down. The Christina/Teddy story line was a bit crazy. I didn't understand why she was putting Christina through the entire procedure over and over, it seemed so cruel, but when Teddy finally cracked was brilliant - heart wrenching as usual, but so good! The Bailey/Ben story line was good too, I agree he was really being pushy, but I think that's how you need to handle Bailey, she is always so in control, he puts her off balance, and she needs that in her romantic relationships - they are very watchable as he breaks her hard shell and she allows herself to be loved again. I didn't get why The Chief/Dr.Webber was being so cut throat with Alex - but no matter how you look at it, it did teach Alex to look out for himself, - it was certainly a different interaction between the two of them. Overall... Grey's was very entertaining and engaging... and I can't ask for more than that! :)

Other than the McFamily scenes, I thought that this episode fell short.

Are we really going to continue to see cutsie-pooh scenes about Zola? That will get me to change the channel.

Give it rest with Mark and Lexie. Her whining drives me nuts and she needs to grow up. Having Mark with someone new is appropriate and will add new cast members for new story arcs.

The attendings play games with the residents when they're supposed to be teaching them. I disliked Webber's manovering to get in on the surgery, stupid excuse to say he's teaching Alex a lesson. Hated Bailey using Mer to avoid a converstion with her bf and then doing nothing but criticising Mer over the failed clinical trial. But there was some justice in the focused like a laser Bailey having the sponge under her shoe. I can see that Altman is needing to check out how her hubby died, but she looked at the notes and Cris told her too many times. Altman needs to let rip at Hunt over what he didn't do in delaying telling her

I found the ep rather dull.I hate that they had a 2wk jump.Has Owen even spoken to Teddy?I was waiting for that scene between these (former?)best friends.I still hate the fact that over the seasons the show has made it easy for us to forget that they were actually bff's.I get Teddy being anal but that repetition was too much and understood why Keppner lost it.Don' tknow if I could have kept doing that.Arizona drove me nuts.I've never cared for her and I honestly didn't need to see her being a pest.I felt for Lexie.I've done that before, held a convo with somebody not knowing they were actually talking in their bluetooth. I like Benley..but it also would have been nice to see when they offically got back together. It was just kind of a slow filler type of episode.

  19. AlexIsAwesome

Boring episode. I just don't care about Teddy or Bailey at all, and the Mark/Lexi nonsense needs to stop. It's great to see Mark excited about a woman whose actually appropriate for him. Julia's a keeper.

Agree that Richard was awful. Alex definitely needs something good to happen for him, career success and a love interest. And Bailey dragging Meredith into her personal life was so annoying. Aren't Richard, Teddy and Bailey supposed to be teaching the Residents something? Stupid, stupid behavior from all of the Attendings this week.

  20. Roxane

I wonder if we watched the same show... I didn't find it very enjoyable. Half the time I wanted to slap someone. Teddy for torturing Cristina, Arizona for being a nervous wreck in the OR, Bailey for ranting endlessly at Ben and Meredith, Ben for giving "all or nothing" ultimatums after two freaking weeks, Webber for being an ass to Alex... Did everyone go crazy, or what? One of the worst eps so far.

  21. poppysmom

I always root for Alex and what the chief did was inexcusable...all about him. Then to say to Alex, "It was once in a lifetime and you didn't fight for it..." C'mon! They still look at him like he was the chief.
Found the repetition of the surgery completely annoying. I agree the April should have kept ranting.
Ben and Bailey...definitely great together! loved the scene where Bailey told Mer and she said, "EVERYBODY knows that!"

  22. CJ

Bailey and Ben? How about Benley? Or Bailen?

I found Ben a little pushy this episode. But then the one time he backed off she kind of left him so I can understand why he pushes her.

What Chief did to Alex was all kinds of wrong. And when is the Chief going to be Cheif again? I'm sorry. But Owen is just not doing it for me.

Also, its about time Owen and Christina had trouble. I'm hoping this leads to their end. I'll always find it stupid how quickly they took Owen and Teddy from being in love with each other for decades to being friends with no residual feelings for eachother.

All in all, not a bad show at all.

  23. edwina

I really hope Mark and Lexie will be back in relationship in this seasons. We need this!!

  24. Jarrod Mitchell

    Agreed. Alex needs to shine.
Loved Meredith and Derek and the cuteness of which is baby Zola.
If I were Kepner, I would have kept yelling, walked out and never returned to Teddy's services again. After the second time of hearing it, I wanted to walk out my own room till it ended. But I guess Teddy wanted to memorize it for herself, which is why Cristina was constantly telling it. As much as she is a robot, I still can't understand why it's so difficult for her to hug someone for comfort. I know it's not her "thing", but it just seemed like a hugging moment when Teddy broke down.
Mark and Lexie are getting annoying to the extent that they need to be together. "I wished you were on the OR with me today". "Oh, really? Me too!". Obviously Lexie wants him back, so why is he with this Julia person?

  25. Kate

Bailey would never go for her name being joined with a guys that way, even Ben, she would HATE it! so it's probably fitting that it doesn't work very well. Do love them together though. And I don't think he was giving her an ultimatum. Bailey needs a strong take charge kind of guy.

The episode was OK, not as strong as others this season, but some great scenes. The one with Christina and Teddy in the scrub room was heart breaking. The one with Mer Der and Zola walking, adorable!! Love them as doting parents!!
