A new Gleek announced his presence on Twitter last night.

Ricky Martin, who will guest star on the series next month as a Spanish teacher, sent the following photo to followers, along with the simple message "First day!"

Standing alongside various cast members, Martin actually has a long history with one of them. He and Lea Michele co-starred in Les Miserables when the latter was only eight years old.

Glee returns with a new episode on January 17. It will be titled "Yes/No," include an ode to Grease and be centered around a proposal.

You're right about that promise of Murphy's. Promises are meant to be broken. But really I luv Ricky Martin. He's a great singer and dancer. I've seen him on a soap-a really good actor too. So ready for salsa music. As much as I was disappointed in s2, s3 is much better but still has a way to go. I am liking some of the story lines this season. So glad Quinn is not crazy anymore. No more Puck and Shelby- now that was wierd.

Haha I knew Ryan Murphy's short attention span couldn't keep up the 'getting back to basics, no guest stars' thing
