Aimee Teegarden has landed the lead role in one of The CW highly-anticipated new dramas.
The former Friday Night Lights star, who appeared on a few season one episodes of 90210, will anchor The Selection, an upcoming pilot many are comparing to The Hunger Games.
The drama - based on a book series by Kiera Cass - will be set three centuries in the future and focus on Teegarden's young woman, who is chosen by lottery (see what we mean?) to compete against others to become the next queen of her struggling country.
In other pilot casting news:
- Bradley Whitford will star opposite Ali Larter on Fox's The Asset, playing the CIA station chief to Larter's field agent.
- Rachel Harris will play the sister of Ben Falcone's character on a CBS sitcom producer by Falcone's wife, Melissa McCarthy.
- Oscar winner Mira Sorvino will headline Trooper, a CBS series about a mother who becomes a New York State trooper. It will be produced by Jerry Bruckheimer.
