There's breaking, good news for Giancarlo Esposito.

The actor (Breaking Bad, Once Upon a Time, coming to Community) has been cast as the lead in Revolution, an upcoming pilot from J.J. Abrams and Supernatural creator Eric Kripke.

The drama will center on a group of survivors struggling to connect with loved ones in a world where all forms of energy no longer exist. Esposito will portray Captain Neville on the series, a southern military man with a myserious past.

Jon Favreau has been tapped to direct the pilot.
