Martin Lawrence Cops Role on CBS Comedy

Martin Lawrence is on his way back to television.

The comedian, who got his start in the 1990s on his self-titled sitcom, has signed on to anchor an untitled comedy pilot for CBS. It will feature Lawrence as the widowed father of two teenagers who loses his construction job and proceeds to enter the police academy.

The series will be written and produced by Mike Lisbe and Nate Reger (Just Shoot Me, $*#! My Dad Says).
