it's a great thing if they do only 10 episode so we will suffer less and stop all this ugly stories ..the only reason because i watch it iìt only to see chuck and bliar together again( corry for my english, i'm italian)
This makes me sad. I remember when this show started back in 2007. I fell in love instantly with the story and characters. And then they just suddenly fucked up everything. They ruined characters! I know they have to change and grow up, but writers did it in such a terrible way. And now there is talking about low ratings, well no shit Sherlock, I wonder how that happened? -.-'
I still watch this show, just because I hope something good will happen, but honestly, damage is too big and the characters are destroyed, they went so low, and they are simply disgusting. No scenario can not fix it anymore. Too bad for such a great show...

I'm skeptical. While I want the show to return to its former glory.. To me Josh and Stephanie are like irresponsible parents. They gave birth to a child, nurtured it for 2 good years. Then decided they had to move to another city to make a living, and left the child behind with some incapable caretaker...When they come back after 3-4 years, it may be too late to mend things.. Their failure in choosing caretaker and lack of monitoring of the caretaker is a disrespect to us - the audience.

I posted the same comment on a youtube promo from the 100th episode and I got a lot of thumbs up, so a lot of people agree, and that's good because we need to do something about it. Back in 2007 I fell in love with this amazing show, I couldnt wait for new episodes, the storylines were great and believeable, etc. But now.... it's boring, I keep watching because I hope it gets better. And I think it's because of the writers, it's time for josh and stephanie to take over control and make a final season that's incredible, like season 1, a season thats a worthly ending for this iconic show. Because maybe it doesnt have so many viewers, the amount of fans from all over the world is ernormous! So fans let's all unite and make sure josh safran and the others make place for josh and stephanie!! Any idea how??

I really hope that (if this is true) Jenny Eric and Vanessa return for the final season. I mean it's only 13 episodes or so, they should bring back the old main characters (and Eric who was never a main character) they can't just leave things up in the air like "oh Jenny and Eric are in europe together studying fashion and stuff and Vanessa just stayed in Barcelona ..." if they do that it would be pretty sh!tty! I want an ending that legitimately ties everything up in a neat bow. The only cliffhanger that I can except would be if Blair runs after somebody but you never find out if it's Dan or Chuck it's up to the viewers to decide or they make a special edition on the DVD that allows you to choose who she ends up with and it has 2 endings... That would be cool... In fact why just stop at Dair and Chair, why not have a different ending for EVERY shipper!! :D~~~ (barfing rainbows)

And ChosenOne is clearly a troll. We have them on both the Chair and the Dair sides. One was posting racist and homophobic trash on the Chair thread, and there was a weirdo posting horrible suicide pics on the Dair thread. Those aren't shippers, they're unbalanced people who need help.

Shannon - please. If it wasn't for that couple you so hate, and that couple's fans, there wouldn't have been a 4th or 5th season for Dair to happen. When the show was a hit and in the spotlight, Dair was nowhere to be seen.
I agree that Leighton's Blair is the most iconic female role from the show, but as much as I love Penn and Dan? Not the male role that critics and viewers will remember long after Gossip Girl is over and done with... we all know who that is. If you don't like Chuck, that's just too bad.

I welcome a shortened Season 6. There is no point of dragging on a poor quality show. Should have moved on if writers and directors have no passion in the show, and if there is no budget to hold up the standard.
Same as most audience, I watched the show for the King and Queen of UES, not Mr & Mrs Brooklyn. Since it has turned into a Brooklyn show, I have tuned out cause it becomes unbearable to me. No entertaining qualities whatsoever.

If the show gets cancelled, i don't blame dair, i blame the psychotic chair fans who get too attached to couples and 'ships' and become childish, therefore not watching gossip girl (after all, that is what it's called NOT the chuck and blair show) and ratings dropping. If anything, dan and blair are the most interesting characters on gg and have been from S1. As well as penn and leighton being the most talented actors on the show imo.

Just let it be that Chair is endgame and this show wont go to waste. GG used to be my favorite tv show ever. But that has change drastically. I only watch for Chuck and Blair.

i would want Eric to come back too, in some capacity. the show could get the actors that play: Jenny, Vanessa, Eric back for the last two episodes.
as for the couples: of course I'd want Dair and Serenate (the couple that was at the heart of the beginning episodes of GG). Chuck Bass should remain Chuck Bass and defile the world w/ Bassness. BUT it would also be great to see Serena/Blair run away to another city together and start anew...the two of them on a new adventure.

i predicted this would happen during all the talk about GG getting cancelled by *some* Chair fans and other disgruntled fans in the forum here. it's a mixed bag. i agree that the show is on it's last legs. it couldn't survive another full season so it's best to wrap it up in 13 episodes. what i really hope the writers are able to do, endgame couples aside, is show each of the characters pursuing their dreams. Dan is already a successful writer, Nate runs an online news publication. Those two are on the right track. Chuck inherited his billion dollar empire...so i don't know what would be next for him. I'd love Serena to go back to Hollywood and Blair to become an 'evil dictator of taste' like Dan said, and be the next Anna Wintour. I'd want Jenny to come back and be a creative director for Eleanor's fashion brand, and Vanessa to be a documentary film-maker.

Its time to let Gossip Girl go, I don't see that these 13 episodes could do for the series, unless its some credible material s1 standard, but I doubt it.

I agree with you. 1 and 2 seasons were the best. In season 3 the first time they destroyed a story which had previously flowed into the series, and then everything went downhill. So now we have in series a lovers Blair and Dan that no one can figure out, even the actors themselves who are acting.

The good news is that there will be 6 season. The bad news is that they remain poor writers who have ruined a very good series. Therefore, the most likely to be 15-18 episodes, as in 1 season, more than that will not. And if they continue with this bad story it will be well if they shoot 10 episodes.

As much as I am a HUGE Gossip Girl fan, I agree that each season keeps going downhill. My favorite season was season 2. The wedding was a terrible plotline. We don't even hear of it anymore. I think that they are ruining the characters, especially Blair. She was a scheming b*tch with amazing fashion at the beginning. Now, her fashion is sub-par and she seems so indecisive and helpless. As much as I like Gossip Girl, I am glad it's wrapping up.
