@EmEsq i never really noticed about their accents, but I live in BK and Dan and me sound nothing alike, they have that west america accent.
Also, I think the GG writers made Dair because we took Chair for granted when they were a real couple, and now they're making us beg for one little Chair moment and we watch just to see if maybe it happens, but it never does :'(

All you said about what Serena pining for Dan silently is correct but for derena to be possible Dan should also feel something and that has not been shown.Just because Serena feels does not mean Dan should too and even the other way around.My favourite pairing in season 1 ,2,3 was Derena.Then it ended and there was no mutual pining shown like in chair in earlier season which kept it alive.I don't have any problem if the show ends with Derena but it should also be equally sought by Dan (because he is a person too) or else it would be settling down for Dan and unfair for both of them...

You're wrong that between Serena and Dan were almost no sparks. At the beginning of the 100th episode, Serena comes downstairs, sees her Dorota and tells her: Ms. Serena you will find someone who will love you. Dorota goes, appears Dan and Serena smile to him - from ear to ear. If their perception is changed, then why during the whole 5th season Serena suffers for Dan. Can it be that Serena is unable to find a boyfriend? If someone has been faithful to someone, it's Serena to Dan in season 1 and 2. Now in season 5 Serena is totally faithful to Dan, just think of him and does not want another man.

I see all the blinkers are out again. I don't think Blair and Dan are acting out of character. They are changed from the individuals they were in high school and we have seen that evolution. Also Dan and Serena haven't had sparks for awhile - if any of them have a brother/sister style relationship now it's those two. Come on they're now in their twenties - of course their perceptions have changed.

I haven't watched an episode from this season since Blair's wedding (which was like two and a half months ago). I just couldn't handle everything that was going on. Dan and Blair being together is just ridiculous, in my opinion. Both of them are so out of character.

I hope I'm right. We think similarly. You're right, between Dan and Blair there is no sparks, their relationship is too monotonous. Dan with Serena had the most beautiful love scenes, sparks were everywhere - the scene in the attic when they interrupted by Vanesa, or in the schoolyard, or on the bus, etc.. And Chuck and Blair also had a fiery love scenes, which in itself shows how popular they are.
To wildly change the subject, are there any other native NYers on the boards who get irritated at the fact that none of the actors have any NY inflections to their accents? Like when they say "sorry" or "horrible," they don't sound at all the way a real life-long NYer would say them! Lol. Nitpicky, I know. But at least a little more light hearted :-)
For the record, a native NYer says "sah-ree" instead of "sore-ree" and "har-uhble" instead of "hore-ible" lol. I'll even look past my own extreme NY way of saying "cawfee" and "chawcolate" lol.

Can't wait to see if Blair changes her mind. I want to see another "War at the Roses" passion moment, this episode was a piece of art, the actors were fantastic, the music was great, epic moment on the piano, it was perfection.
So why this lovely couple, CHAIR went down, CHAIR supports the show on it's own, I'll be happy only to watch blair and chuck on the show, cause it's all we need: normal people sharing LOVE and PASSION.
So let's have our happy ending Chair moment, and please, do not come up with another incestuous affair, Serena and Chuck will be disastrous and unbelievable.
So let's hope the writers think this time with their head and finally develop CHAIR relationship (royalty couple), like they should have done after "War at the Roses".

i hope chuck finds someone (blair, someone like eva... whoever) he deserves it and i also think he's the best character in the show (i laugh and cry with him)
i will definetely watch this episode, i love NJBC. we'll have something more similar to gg at last...

I am a big fan of Serena and Dan. So should I defend Chuck and Blair, and you their fans were now switch to the other side. I do not understand why the audience does not love a great love story as it was between Serena and Dan, but more like a cliche - Serena and Nate (golden boy and golden girl). Dan and Blair should not be together! Serena and Dan should be together! Chuck and Blair should be together! Nate is a playboy, and he does not need a permanent girl! Once again, Chuck and Blair fans do not cancel your favorites, because in the six season will be the end of series! If Chuck and Blair are together, then Dan and Serena will be together!

At least we know G.Singular is wrong when he or she says we may be the same person.I like Dair but at the same time am not going to dis the show or the writers if they break up.As far as Serenate ,they look good but they did not work for me, nola is good till now but it is too early to say whether they will last.

There's no need to try to be patronising. I take the show as it comes and the ships with it. I don't need to rant because I'm not getting my own way and I certainly don't need to slate characters or other fans of the show. I just think that bald statements like 'Chair is perfect' and 'Dair fans can't be real fans' are untrue and unconsidered. The show is for all fans and everyone likes it for a multitude of reasons and I'm ok with everyone getting a bit of what they want at some point during the shows seasons. By the way I also preferred Serena with Nate.

Hey Gossip Girl writers especially Safran! Please the wider audience, not yourselves. If you want Dair to continue, bring that to other shows. Don't listen to the scheming Dair fans. They aim to end the show sooner.
Also Raven, honey I'm no Chair fan. I'm a hardcore SERENATE. One doesn't have to be a Chair fan to see how awful Dair is on screen. They are so annoying to see in any romantic gestures.

Why is it that Chair fans are so blinkered and unreasoning? Chair were not perfect by a long shot and that's what actually made them interesting for all that time. If being deluded is enjoying the bit of a change we have at the moment and still being able to accept that ultimately the writers will do what they like and and can just enjoy the show for what it is then so be it. I'd rather be that than someone who makes wild assumptions and attempts to be insulting.

This is my theory, Dair fans are not really Gossip Girl fans. They are the some 3 or 5 people who wished the show to end sooner. They are happier when the show's rating is going down.
So, like the NJBC, real Gossip Girl fans let's unite! Save the show, stop the Dair!!!

I am definitely blaming Dair for the low ratings of Gossip Girl, so they should stop that ridiculousness. However, I am not anymore hoping for Chair too. You know what can give a fresh of air to the show? Chuck + Serena. Also Blair needs a new man that is not in the min cast, or maybe don't hook her up anymore with any man but make her career-oriented like what her character in S1 and S2 always aspires to be. She's actually Miranda Priestley in the making back then.
Save the show, stop the Dair!!!

I'm still patiently waiting for Chuck and Blair to get back to each other's arms, C'mon Dan and Blair?! They dont even have Chemistry they don't look good on TV, plus Dan would never be a member of UES he will always be the "Lonely boy from Brooklyn" He will never be part of UES as far as I'm concerned their Loveteam just not go together! I dont see the love in thier eyes, not like Chuck and Blair I could really see the love and passion in thier eyes. Make Dan go away to someplace where He could never go back and ruin Gossip Girl.
