Grey's Anatomy Spoilers: Return of the "Old Cristina"?

by at . Comments

Cristina and Owen have been heading down a dark road for weeks on Grey's Anatomy, and according to new intel, the couple's issues will continue impair Dr. Yang during her upcoming medical boards.

However, the exams will also offer a chance for the vintage Cristina to reemerge.

"Honestly, she's kind of distracted because of what's going on between she and Owen, but handles the boards seriously in classic fashion," the amazing Sandra Oh told TV Guide earlier this week.

A Little Lost

"People will be quite happy with seeing Cristina back to form. I call that episode 'Hoisting Oneself on One's Own Petard.' It's really funny." Make of that what you will ... and celebrate on cue.

Speaking of the all-important medical boards, one of the original interns apparently will be suffering a stress-induced, spontaneous medical emergency while taking them. And it looks like that person is Mer.

“Meredith has a big crisis ... a huge obstacle that interferes in her taking the boards,” Ellen Pompeo told TV Line, “[and] Derek just has to support her through that.”

Finally, the mysterious character that guest star Jordan Belfi will be playing in two May episodes a patient who needs surgery, and an old friend of one of the characters, according to Shonda Rhimes.

Please keep Owen and Christina together! I understand all couples have their ups and downs, but it just wouldn't be right if the writers split them apart. If anything, allow Christina to be herself as a surgeon, but soften her heart to be a mother. I REALLY like these together!!! They were mean't to be together from the beginning!!! Don't break them up!! Please :( Can't they just ever make these tv medicine soap operas happy endings. I don't want to see these two seperate. It will ruin the show.

When are Sloan and Lexi going to get back together!!!!! I like Owen but it is getting very hard with his character flaws, example: cheating. Christina'a character has been through alot and she is staying strong. Can't Shrondra write in some good stuff for her to experience! I mean Seriously!! Seriously!

I actually like the Christina and Owen storyline, but it will be nice to see classic Yang. I guess maybe I like whatever they do with her just because I love Sandra Oh! So talented, she can make anything the best or most interesting part of the show.

good! More christina!

I'm so happy we will get the old Christina back I loved her! Not this winey woman she has turned into.

lol. i don't think it would be a bad setup just to give meredith a boring boards experience. people have been trained to expect the other shoe to fall with her, because it invariably does. everyone would be waiting for something to happen and the suspense would get no relief. it would probably annoy everyone who has come to expect problems with her. as a writer, i think i would get a kick out of that.

Why does meredith always have a crisis when she writes her boards??? Cant she ever get some peace?

It's about time Cristina gets back to who she is. I hate so much this storyline, it's neverending !!!
On another note, I hope Sandra Oh is getting back. I am not against some change due to the contracts renewal, mostly useless characters like April and Jackson should be written off the show. It's overcrowded, lets make some room and lets keep most interesting characters.

I think Sandra Oh is leaving the show after Season 8 so the people so enthralled with "old" Cristina will get exactly what they wish for. They'll just have to keep watching Grey's Anatomy reruns to get their thrills and giggles since she'll be no more on the show. Hehe

As much as I believe that Cristina is still the same, I do believe that she has modified herself to fit marriage in. I don't blame Owen, but I do believe that she's allowed too much of her personal life to interfere with her work life. Yeah, she's still somewhat competitive and ambitious, but I'd really like to see her back to the root of her character where she wouldn't hesitate to sell out another to get her hands on a scalpel.

Grey's Anatomy Quotes

Did you say it? 'I love you. I don't ever want to live without you. You changed my life.' Did you say it? Make a plan. Set a goal. Work toward it, but every now and then, look around; Drink it in 'cause this is it. It might all be gone tomorrow."

Meredith (closing voiceover)

Lexie: [narrating] Grief may be a thing we all have in common, but it looks different on everyone.
Mark: It isn't just death we have to grieve. It's life. It's loss. It's change.
Alex: And when we wonder why it has to suck so much sometimes, has to hurt so bad. The thing we gotta try to remember is that it can turn on a dime.
Izzie: That's how you stay alive. When it hurts so much you can't breathe, that's how you survive.
Derek: By remembering that one day, somehow, impossibly, you won't feel this way. It won't hurt this much.
Bailey: Grief comes in its own time for everyone, in its own way.
Owen: So the best we can do, the best anyone can do, is try for honesty.
Meredith: The really crappy thing, the very worst part of grief is that you can't control it.
Arizona: The best we can do is try to let ourselves feel it when it comes.
Callie: And let it go when we can.
Meredith: The very worst part is that the minute you think you're past it, it starts all over again.
Cristina: And always, every time, it takes your breath away.
Meredith: There are five stages of grief. They look different on all of us, but there are always five.
Alex: Denial.
Derek: Anger.
Bailey: Bargaining.
Lexie: Depression.
Richard: Acceptance.
