I RARELY make comment online, but after watching this episode of The Killing, I knew I would have to vent somewhere! I am certain I am one of the show’s last fans…..I mean WAS one of the show’s last fans until tonight’s episode.
My two biggest moments of disappointment and feeling suddenly queasy, were 1)that lip-synching scene in the diner, the table for two filled with empty plates and glasses (they don’t offer refills at that restaurant?). I mean that scene was so cheesy I was embarrassed for the characters, the actors, and especially the writers, and 2)Stan comes in to tell Linden an entire list of names, confess to who knows what, and Linden tells him to GO HOME? WTHeck, folks? No, I don’t want a list of names, possible, potential suspects in my murder case, and I have no interest in your complex background, Stan, because WE ALREADY KNOW IT ALL, because we have this kid here? REALLY? Yup. Just go home, Stan.
The scene with Stan and Terry was just plain

"All the complaints about pacing and yet you're still tuning in. The pacing allows for character development... which in turn makes you care as much about what happens to the characters, as who killed Rosie Larsen."
That people tune in despite complaints means that *something* is working for them, if only the carrot (an answer) the show keeps dangling in front of us. As for character development: it's not a vegetable. We don't have to eat it because it's good for us. If people don't like it, it's because it's being done poorly.

I like that this show doesn't make its characters do the right thing or the sensible thing. That said, not all characters who fail to do the right thing are at all interesting. I am happy to follow Linden and Holder, sometimes happy to follow Stan and sometimes Terry. The rest, I'd fast forward through (and sometimes do) if I wasn't afraid to miss the very rare piece of significant information that creeps through. It's maddening. I will be much more surprised if this show survives than if it dies. And that will be sad, because its promise is just as obvious as its flaws.

I really like the show. The pace of the show is fine for me because I generally want to know about each character (almost like reading a book). But I can see where others who are not interested in or maybe dislike a particular character could get frustrated.
What I wonder about is what will happen once the killer is identified.

Need I point out the obvious? All the complaints about pacing and yet you're still tuning in. The pacing allows for character development... which in turn makes you care as much about what happens to the characters, as who killed Rosie Larsen.

Dream Sequence! We see hooded figure come into Richmond's hospital room, point a gun and... It's Belko! It's a dream! It Sucks!
Also now know Rosie's dad isn't even her dad. And he wants to sleep with his wife's sister. Maybe to make another Rosie?
This show has entered the realm of the soap opera. All this time and all we really know is Rosie was found dead in a trunk with her hands tied and she was alive when the car went into the water. I no longer get Linden or any other character. her supposed dead beat husband is the only character that makes sense anymore - i.e. he seems to be a good dad.

Shocker -- Rosie hated her parents. Well, duh. She was a teenager. Hatred of all parental units is the norm.
But if Alexi already knew she hated Stan *and* he isn't her bio-pop, why didn't he just go ahead and get whatever revenge he was planning for *his* bio-dad's murder? We're supposed to think he waivered because he fell in teeny-love with Rosie. So why artfully scratch out her tattoo-like face?
Nobody knows what the heck they're doing in this show, the two mopey cops included.

Terribly boring attempt at TV. Makes Mad Men seem hundreds of times better, when it mercifully takes the air waves away from the Red Herring Hour.

The wheelchair scenes in the hospital were pretty deep. Also the rain gives
at a noir feel,It makes an ordinary scene all 'seven'esque. Why does everyone take a dump on this show?

I've pretty much had it with the rain...It NEVER rains like that in seattle, it has been ridiculous watching the phoney weather almost as much as this plot is glacial.
