Should There Be a Gossip Girl Movie?

by at . Comments

The upcoming sixth season of Gossip Girl, set to premiere in October, will be its last.

Sad as this fact is, as the show's stars gear up to say sayonara to the Upper East Side on the CW, could some of them be persuaded to reunite for a Gossip Girl movie down the line, a la Sex and the City?

"It's funny because I just got that question recently," Chace Crawford told E! News.

Nathaniel in L.A.

"It had never even crossed my mind so it was like, that's weird ... I don't know if I want that, or do not want that. I don't know what the logistics would be on that. I would imagine it's a long shot. Who knows?"

If it's up to him, Gossip Girl Season 6 will end with a bang. In a manner of speaking.

"Like the end of Die Hard," he joked. "Just walking away from an exploding helicopter."

Crawford, who can be seen in What to Expect When You're Expecting, is also set to star alongside Pierce Brosnan as a South African accused of murder in director Bruce Beresford's The House Gun.

What do you think of the idea of a Gossip Girl movie? Would you like to see it? What would the plot be? Would it involve all of the original cast members? Share your thoughts with us below!

Nope. I am a massive GG fan and I studied brand identity, and the GG movie might be an ultimate killer at the time, but, when all of us know a specific ending for it, it'll feel, lets say fake, and will somehow feel like degrading the audiences minds.
I think keeping the beauty and the urge to watch and keeping us(GG fans) that insane about it is already very hard to achieve nowadays.
I just want to watch the next episode and i'm going crazy to know it from the one and only source to the scandalous lives of Manhattan's elite :)

I'd love to see Chair wedding as a movie...

No, I think we've dragged out these characters possibly a little too much over 5 seasons (plus the extra bit of 6) that a movie might just kill the appeal.
Maybe if they started from the beginning, and stuck closer to the original book's characters/storylines? Still, the fanbase would be the shows, so any changes to the characters (and actors too!) would not be greeted kindly.
bad idea.

yes but only if they bring back all the cast! Leighton,ed,pen, chace,Taylor,Jessica and Blake!

No. If this last part of this season truly wants to end on a bang and live up to its first season. they will have to focus on that. If they end S6 on some sort of cliffhanger to promote interest in a possible future movie, well that'd be disappointing!

Blair: Fashion is the most powerful art there is. It's movement, design and architecture all in one. It shows the world who we are and who we'd like to be. Just like your scarf suggests that you'd like to sell used cars.
Dan: Vanessa gave me this scarf.
