TV Ratings Report: Just in for The Newsroom...

This just in... The Newsroom opened very well for HBO last night.

The controversial Aaron Sorkin drama drew 2.1 million viewers last night, nearly equaling the total garnered by the Game of Thrones series premiere. For the sake of other comparisons:

• Luck premiered to 1.1 million viewers.
• True Blood kicked off years ago to 1.4 million.
