When they cancel Alphas, we'll be well and truly done with this once-awesome channel. It's not even a vestige of its original self, anymore :(
This episode was terrific (except Jo's hair--love it down; didn't love that curl thing they did to it, though). We've been rooting for Zane and Jo for a long time, and I'm glad they got their happy ending.
James Callis' accent was AWFUL. I could swear I've heard him do it so much better, previously...

David... Last Scene is the same thing that happened in the pilot episode when they were lost and ended in eureka, but this time you are looking at it from the other car's point of view. cool way to take it full circle.

I have to completely disagree with the commenter below me. You cannot expect a show to stay the same after so many years and after all, it is a scifi show. you should expect some science fiction. the show stayed very entertaining through out all seasons. the final episode was very well done and provided an excellent send off for some very special characters. Got to see some old friends to. Maybe they will do a straight to dvd movie or something.

The show went off the deep end when it brought it robots, the Matrix, left over start trek toys. Eureaka, in the beginning, was supposed to be just a bit over the edge - not Lost in Space foolishness. And the characters became a mess. They just ran out of interesting ideas. I can't believed they had the seriousness to kill off the female character, and then bring her back over a span of what seemed like a million episodes. It makes her initial death seem pointless. I think they should have ended it when they had the new timeline. That would have been a great finale.

Nice review, Jim. I am looking forward to the season DVD, too. I don't have cable. I think I'll borrow them all from the library and watch them over again. Good series, killed too soon. SyFy (ridiculous name) has a habit of doing that.
I worried they were going to leave this in a horrible spot. The town closed down. No more Eureka even in an abstract sense.
But they pulled it together with a great nod to the pilot episode with Carter & Zoe seeing themselves in the other car. Wonderful!

According to SyFy their parent company, Comcast cancelled the show. Was I the only one who got spin off vibe from Holly and Fargo's ending? Here's to hoping Warehouse 13 appearances. Also good luck to Niall (Zane) on the Primeval spin off.

This has been one of my favorite shows. It had everything you could possibly want in a show. Humor, romance, adventure everything. I am really going to miss this show.I can't believe SyFy is cancelling it. This show was original and the writing was awesome on every episode. You never knew what was coming and when it did you were never disappointed.I love Jack and was so glad when they finally let him and Allison get together. All the effort Fargo went to to get Holly back, and having Jo and Zane get together again helped make this season fun and at least SyFy had enough sense to let us fans have a happy ending. I have never written anything about a show before but Eureka was a special show and I am going to miss seeing these characters.I think SyFy made a HUGE mistake cancelling it. I wish there was some way to change their minds. But I guess this is good bye to Eureka and the people in it.

I played it over and over but could not understand Jack's last line after he sees himself in the other vehicle. Anyone know what it was?

Although i am very sad to see my favorite show end. They did a spectacular job on the final episode. Got to see some old faces like Taggert,Zoe,Beverly, and Grant. the show ended on a high note with Dr. Grant buying Eureka and putting Henry in charge as director.(now i want to see more). Of course the final scene with Jack and Zoe in the car seeing themselves enter Eureka like in the pilot episode was phenomenal. I will greatly miss Eureka, it was one of the only shows i looked forward to every week. Good luck to the cast and crew. I would love to see them on tv in the future.

I hate to see it end, but if it had too, I think it ended the way I can accept ... it gave closures to the couples I grew to love, yet ended with a little mystery...Loved the show from day one!!!

I loved the finale and I think that Syfy network needs to take another look at their programming. Here was a unique scifi show that was well received and it's gh\one. Oh, but you gotta love the fact that syfy is doing wrestling! NOT! How stupid???!!!

We finally get a good summer show and they cancel it. Curse you scyfy channel!!
I loved all the episodes but have special feelings for the crossovers with Warehouse 13 and the bowling championship.
You will be missed Jack Carter

i have way too many favorite episodes, mainly because i honestly think i loved them all, but to just name a few: The Pilot, Maneater, and Jack of All Trades.
i loved the finale so much. it was more than i could have ever expected. even with the sneak peeks i had no idea what to expect. i did know for sure to expect a lot of crying, which is what i did. especially the scene where Jack is going through the wormhole. my time spent with Eureka was less than a year, way less. but it doesn't effect how much the characters mean to me. this show will always hold a special place in my heart. it was endearing, crazy, but almost every episode would end on a happy note.
one of my favorite lines, and there were so many in the finale, was when Holly was talking to Vincent in Cafe Diem

I kinda agree with everyone about the lackluster final story... until the last ten minutes after he went through the wormhole. After that I thought the finale was so spot on that it not only saved the rest of the episode, but actively elevated it to one of my new favorites. And that final scene? Its clear the writers have had that one in their back pocket from the first day of shooting the pilot.

I have decided that writers officially can't win whatever they do! for those fans who were upset with the ending. I don't undestand why you bothered watching this episode you should have stopped at the last episode and then you would have had your slightly more intense ending with the wiping of Holly's mind.
It was obvious from the writer asking for one last episode that he wanted to wrap up the stories for these characters that he loved and therefore was going to find a way to give them a happy ending. Yes it is clique and less exciting but this is a show that is as amazing for its characters and the love they generate from the fans as it is for the sci-fi and out there storylines. I loved that the final episode wrapped up the love stories and gave them all a place to bound from in the fans imaginations. It was heartfelt and touching and I loved every blooming minute of it :)

It was an AWESOME finale, because I didn't want it to end to begin with at least the writers took in the fact that many fans needed closure with their favorite geeks & sheriff!!!! those that thought it was aweful, why the heck did you even watch it!:p Love the fairy tale ending...at least in my mind, Eureka is still going strong!! Yep, my reality is that bad, that I cry at a fictional tv show ending!!! Lmbo! ;o)

LOVE the show ... HATED the finale. It was way too bland and "normal" for Eureka. The wormhole "disaster of the week" was that terrifying. I had one instance of excitement when Jack jumped in. Maybe he would end up in another alternate reality. But no, just flashbacks. Everything ended to perfect and sweet for my tastes. I kept waiting for some weird Eureka-ish ending and was sadly disappointed. Still, love the show and will miss it on Mondays.

Beautiful ending to a beautiful show. There may have been a few clichés here and there, but that's one of things that makes such a unique show so familiar. At the end of the finale, when Jack was driving Zoe back, and I saw the rain pouring down, I instantly remembered the pilot episode, and knew that they were about to drive past themselves. I'll really miss Eureka, and I can't wait to own this last season on DVD to complete my collection.

Exceptionally dull finale. What once was an excellent series has floundered badly for a couple of years. All came down to bad writing....
