Great Series!! Anyone have any suggestions to help tie me over until the New Season Starts in March 2013

I like the show quite a bit myself but I would have to say my favorite character in the show would be Tyrion Lannister. He is the only Lannister I like, but if he was not in it I think I would like this show significantly less. As far as the whole endless winter and people not being able to survive in it, there are people who live like that here on our planet to this day. Like the Eskimos, their winter is even more harsh than what's North of the wall.

I am addicted to the series; wishing I wasn't; just too many POV characters. The plausibility factor also gets in the way too; endless winter in the North for one; really? How does one fodder his live stock let alone feed his family?
As soon as you begin to like a character they get killed off. That's where I am a bit old fashioned I guess; raised on heroic epics and such. Where the good eventually triumphs over the bad guys.Killing Ned Stark and the fall of Winterfell made this a bad addiction

@Colin - Joffrey was a good character, but you will see he needed to go (he would simply be too one-dimensional if he stayed anyway) - but it is the flame that ignites much of the next 3 books, so very necessary.

Glad they are putting JoJen in it, he was missing from the end of the last series (when Bran escaped with Meera (Jojen's elder sister) - was wondering about how they were going to put in the Green Dream stuff (not going to spoil, don't worry!). Great casting for him too - pretty much how I imagined Jojen to look when I read the books (on The Dance with Dragons right now - half way through). Series strays from the books a bit, but not much. Loving it!
To Ryan - There are plenty of Black people in GoT - the Summer Islanders are black for starters. Dornish and Qarth are pretty much Semite/Persian/Arab. The Slave City States (like Meeren/Astaopr/etc - Slaver's Bay) are called "yellow" sometimes in insult, so may be South/East-Asian. Dothraki are like native americans. Add to that races that are made up - like giants, horn feet, children of the forest, etc and there are actually quite a few races therein.

I thought it a shame Joffrey got the chop so early. If I had written this series he would definitely have been a keeper. It's the evil characters that make this show so brilliant, can't stand goody two shoes. George R.R.Martin you rock!

March 31 is my bithday! What a great birthday presant, thank you HBO!!! I love Tyrion, Arya, and John Snow the most but I find the more I read the books I love reading about all the characters. I'm almost done with book5 and I am totally addicted. LOVE LOVE LOVE this show!!!!!!
