Now what I think WOULD be interesting would be if Cristina ended up pregnant after her visit to Owen in the on call room. Doubt he had a condom handy and whatever form of contraception they'd been using clearly didn't do the trick. Then after everything they've been through I'm not sure she'd choose to have another abortion. Watching her succumb to the body changes that come with pregnancy would be hilarious!

@GA-Addict13 You are one of a handful of fans out there that understand the hierachy of a surgical training program. None of the residents are going to be attendings except Meredith. Bailey didn't do a fellowship because Gen Surg doesn't require one.
I don't remember any SL indicating Mer was pregnant but I do think it would be awesome for her get pregnant and have to have Addison fly in to deliver it. Pretty interesting way to end her career in Shondaland. Mer was getting treatments to help her get pregnant. They never said it wouldn't ever happen, just that it might be difficult. Seems kind of common for women trying to conceive to end up pregnant without trying after they adopt a baby. Stress is relieved and they stop thinking about it and then wham, they're pregnant.

I have to agree with @GA Fan - if you hate main characters that much, ie Derek and Meredith - why do you watch the show in the first place? It was built around them and their crazy ass relationship. They aren't going anywhere!!
I'm still confused as to why people think Mer is pregnant. There haven't been any signs. Yes, she threw up - for two days and nights straight with the stomach flu from her daughter. Is it just from wanting to work an actual baby in while Addison is still around? Wishful thinking? Or did I miss something?

Oh they have to stay alive. Losing Teddy AND Lexie in one episode was too much, don't take any of them away. (Unless it's Derek)

Also... people mark was on the show before lexie was. they can build around his character. he isnt going to disappear just because she is gone. although i wish they had ended up together i dont think his character should be put down because he doesnt have that connection anymore. and derek didnt say rose when he was shot and almost died.. why in the world would he say it now... come on people let derek and mer be happy at least. god knows there has to be some kind of happy lol plus shonda has said no matter what she wants a happy ending a comfortable ending for derek and mer. and as for april... i like her and she is the new george so as long as her story line doesnt fail like his did im happy with whatever they do. but i would like to see burk come back for cardio to fill in while they find someone else and have that drama for christina and owen... sad thing is they will never bring him back.

the show is about all of them but Meredith is and always will be the main character. she is the kevin bacon to which everyone is connected through the 6 degree rule. i didnt want lexie's character to leave either but seriously if you hate meredith... why even watch the show. she will always be a part of the story line one way or another..

Owen will step down, just like derek did except his resignation will be to care for his wife and not that he hate's the job. Webber will be offered the position again but will decline stating his wife is too sick and he want's to spend as much time as possible with her. He will convince the board to hire Bailey as the new CoS.
Meredith and Derek will stay in Seattle, as Lexie's death will bring her closer to her father again and she will want to stay for him, Derek's hand is really badly injured so he will be sidelined for awhile and he will end up being at home caring for Zola. Meredith will end up back in Neuro and Derek will mentor her until he is back fully. Also think the baby SL has gusto with Addison having to deliver after complications happen. Can so imagine the going into labour in an elevator scene while Mer/Der are having a err catchup.

@McFish - blame what Owen did or did not do on the very poor writing & too much of a circus type atmosphere the last episode. Every character does & says what Shonda & Co tell them to, though I truly understand what you are saying. I am wondering if Owen will step down to care for Cristina - she may have been the only mobile one at the end of S8 but that doesn't mean she still will be when S9 starts. The character of Cristina is written for her to have "the will" of steel - though we saw her character be reduced to such a low level, to the point of lap dances a few episodes into S7 after the hospital shooting, the crash could put her over the edge but it is anyone's guess. I just think that if Shonda does a time jump, where all the doctor's have already been rescued I think it would be totally bogus. I think she needs to pick up the show right where it left off with Owen getting into rescue mode. My understanding is that Grey's starts filming S9 this coming Monday, Jul

I hate to point this out, but the main characters just became fellows, not full-blown attendings. They are still being trained, albeit at the highest level. The chances of any of them becoming Head of their relative departments are really slim.
The two older doctors they are looking to cast are probably related to this. They are the right age for very experienced doctors who would be considered for the Head position. Maybe they will be competing for the cardio spot.
And while, Izzy may have expressed interest in coming back, it was never reciprocated by Shonda or ABC. Frankly, I think this is a good thing. Starting with Season 5, her character became very annoying. She groundlessly blamed Alex when she got fired for practically killing a woman. Then threw a fit and left without word, breaking his heart. He deserves better. I sincerely hope she does not return.

I think its horse crap the way the story line is. Owen will step down to spend more time with.Christina. Baily will become the new chief. Alex will take over peds Christina will take over cardio Jackson will take over plastics and the 2new docs will take over Nero. MERIDITH will do what she always does. Nothing but whine. Meredith should have been killed not lexie. Now for izzy
Yes she could come back as one of the medical personnel Alex deserves to be happy and izzy. Can do that. That would be my story line

Derek didn't say "Rose", everyone-he said "I'm frozen." They were basically all getting hypothermia out there. Sorry to say this, but it's stupid to even suggest that he said "Rose". That storyline is long gone and never to be brought up again-especiallly not with Zola in the picture.
Also, I agree with Miranda-Arizona is clearly very, very injured. But Jessica Capshaw has hinted (as well as others) multiple times that she will be back at work on GA in the fall. So maybe it'll be a long road to recovery for her, but I'm pretty sure she's not dying. I think the only one in grave danger is Mark because we don't know where his contract stands. Other than that we should see everyone back. Hopefully Eric Dane has renewed.

Hear whats going to happen everyone will be found and make guick recoveres. They all decide to stay at Seattle Grace. Cristana will be head of Cardio, Alex will turn down John hopkins because he has nobody to be there with him; Mark will found he is not Sopfia's father and leave town and everything will magically be back to normal.

Lexie's death was terrible - like my friend and I literally are in mourning - but Mark still has a place on the show without her. He has been around since Season 3. He's Derek's bestie, Jackson's mentor, and has Sophia with Calzona. Plus, he's hilarious.
If Arizona gets killed, that will be devastating. Just saying.
What's Going to Happen:
Owen will be the first to find out about the crash and will go into instant crisis mode. Along with him, Kepner, Avery, Bailey, the Chief (Webber - who will always be 'the Chief'), and Alex are gonna have to do most of the surgeries. Callie will be completely off the deep end and not much help. The rest are either really badly injured - Mark, Der, Arizona - and won't be able to operate. Christina could either have internal injuries or go all badass and operate even though she's a victim. Mer will be useless, as usual, in crisis.
Once things cool down, Owen could step down and then Bailey should totally become Chief. She would be the bes

I hope that they give Mark (and the fans) a while to cool off before they go matching him up with someone else. In my opinion that's only fair but knowing Shonda and Co. they will likely keep him with Julia. I don't mind Julia as it is rare to find someone as accepting of Mark's situation with C & A as she is but she is clearly a far cry from Lexie who was his soulmate. I hope to see April taking Lexie's spot in the program and helping Jackson get through the grieving process of losing Lexie, as I know a part of him still really cared about her. I think the crash will help mend C & O's relationship in realizing that life is short and I know for a fact that the loss of her sister will eventually prevent Meredith from leaving (also Derek potentially losing the job he was offered in Boston because of his hand) and they will want to stay somewhere familiar with the people they love. I also think there will be Bailey/Ben drama and Adele will die; also that Alex will stay because he

Have to agree with cantguessmyname?? If all the characters had a 'happy ever after' scenarios it would be hard to keep finding interesting SL. I'd love for Mer to be pregnant, but previous SL made it medically difficult for her to conceive. Chyler said that she hopes Mark will move on to find someone, but Chyler wanted there to be some grieving time for Mark to miss Lexie.
Der and Cris' injuries were to their left arms. I think Der SL will involve his hand not healing well. Would he want to stay around Seattle cos Mark falls to pieces cos of Lexie's death? Arizona shouldn't be in the OR that quickly,so Alex replaces her?

personally i think derek will be left unable to operate cos his hand mark will have a major breakdown like derek did in season 5.
as for mer i really dont think she is pregnant but if she is id bet that she'll lose it again
i also think that christina will leave unless meredith can convince her to stay and help her as for owen i cant see much happenning there
but the most probable thing is that what ive just written will turn out to be the most unlikely scenario

I think all the remaining crash victims will survive with varying levels of injuries. I can't imagine the producers killing off any more characters. I thought Lexie's death was a terrible decision; she was a brilliant and quirky character with her photographic memory and she was at a different stage in her medical training. Lexie and Mark were great together, unlike Lexie and Jackson. Jackson is eye candy for viewers and he just gets passed around all the females. He and April could be interesting together. With Teddy gone, Cristina could be Head of Cardio, or at least an Attending. Bailey would be an awesome Chief in place of Owen who is better in Trauma. I thought Meredith was pregnant when she kept throwing up, I hope she is.

I don't get why people say Mark has no storyline without Lexie....they have not been together since season 6....he has had plenty of SL...and there is plenty more for him to have...anyway...really hope he lives!!

I loved the story line with Mark & Lexie...I'll miss that. But you can get rid of Arizona,she's spitting up blood anyway, she could easily die. I'd like to see Mark, Cristina, Meridith, Derrick survive; I'd like to see Cristina have an epiphany through this and get back together with Owen, who rocks by the way AND will jump out of the rescue helicopter and swoop her into his arms...he so loves to swoop on her anyway ...Alex will become the next Attending with his Peed's Fellowship, Webber will have to step up cuz Owen will be crazy about Cristina's recovery and unable to focus; Baily will then become Chief of Surgery; Calliope will be there for Mark & the baby while grieving for Arizona; Meridith & Derrick will find out she's pregnant & she'll carry to term...Cristina will still be the godmother and will secretly change her mind about having a baby, but not tell Owen...cuz she's scared; Teddy will end up with the Special Agent she met while treating the Amir and send

Kepner is being talked up as a character:(( How will this surgeon who failed her boards,has been told there are better candidates for a job @ SGH that she wasn't even interested in get a job there?Kepner will be in GA to have a boring romance with Avery. I wish Kepner would be written out, but they'll keep Avery cos he's eye candy!
