NBC is resurrecting another iconic villain.

With Hannibal already on tap for early 2013, the network announced yesterday it was also skipping the pilot phase and ordering Dracula to series. Jonathan Rhys Meyers (King Henry VIII on The Tudors) will portray the world's most famous blood sucker.

“It is a timeless tale with relevant, surprising twists and turns [and] the exquisite Jonathan Rhys Meyers in the marquee role,” Universal Television Executive Vice President Bela Bajaria said yesterday in a statement.

The series has also been picked up by Great Britain's Sky Living and the 10-episode opening season will focus on Dracula after he moves to London with a scheme for revenge… which will run into trouble with he meets a woman who reminds him of his late wife.

Production gets underway later this year.

What do you think? Will you tune in for NBC's take on Dracula?
