Paul McDonald is scheduled to make his acting debut on Parenthood Season 4, but the role shouldn't be much of a stretch for the former American Idol finalist:

As first reported by TV Line, the singer will appear on multiple episodes of this NBC drama as a musician who takes advantage of Crosby and Adam’s recording space. He may also get involved with the studio’s new assistant, Amber.

The gig will mark McDonald's first acting role, but he does have a helpful resource at home: the crooner is married to Twilight Saga star Nikki Reed.

Earlier this week, Parenthood - which returns on September 11 - also cast Matt Lauria in a recurring role. He'll come on board as a veteran.
