Everything you said is true for Dan, and especially his character regressed in comparison to others, especially in relation to Chuck! However, as far as new news arrived, thank you @pty, I think any kind of happy ending between Serena and Dan is no longer available!

I actually like that the writers ended the season five finale by taking the story back to where it started it's like they realized the mess Safran made and even though I'm a Chair fan Dair could have worked had Safran not destroyed the character development of Dan and Blair to make it happen

I think that Nate is waay better, even though he basically has no storyline, except sleeping with all the female guess stars, no matter how old they are. (I'm not saying that he's perfect for Serena, given the fact that they don't have feelings for each others for at least two years.)

I, for one, don't want to see Chuck and Blair together only in the last episode, so it's pretty obvious that you too don't want to see Dan and Serena getting back together after so long. In my opinion, Derena should happen only when Dan finally realizes all the mistakes he made, not only in season 5, but also in the previous seasons. If I have to be completely honest, in fact, I think that Dan is the only character that instead of growing has regressed during those years. He became more and more self righteous, expecting that since he was all perfect, he needed to be surrounded by perfect people, so, soon after one of those perfect people made a little mistake, he blamed him/her without even considering the fact that maybe he was wrong too. He claims to be above all those shady upper east siders, but guess what? He has been shady too. How can I even like a character like that? If the two of them does not back Dan on the right track, nobody will! As for Serena and Stephen, I think you're right that the two will not be together in the end! I also agree, and I hope, that it will probably Serena and Dan finally be together, but that should not happen in the last episode! It looked like the end of the series Friends between Ross and Rachel, which was not what the audience wants in GG! I do not expect that Serena and Dan reconcile in 1 episode, but in 4 or 5, this would be a big hit! Because after that the end in season 5, Serena and Dan deserve at least 4-5 episodes to be re-kindled their love and end with a happy ending like Chuck and Blair!

I mean, there are so many clues - from the sex scene in 5x24 to all those scenes together during season 6. I guess, though, that this endgame will probably be seen in the last episodes, while Chair will (hopefully) get their happy ending sooner. Uh, and I just want to be precise: Serena and Steven aren't getting married! I think the authors want to mislead us, knowing that we know too much about what is going to happen thanks to the various photos, callsheets, etc...
Anyway, have you seen the other promo? It is awesome! Dan getting slapped (finally!) by both Serena and Blair, HW ring at Blair's neck, Blair's bitchy face, Chuck and Blair making out, Nate seeming to have a proper storyline, Georgina bringing some drama... can't wait, can't wait! Still a month to go!

As for Serena, nothing strange she has touched bottom, but as she has already done so when she was at boarding school, she will have to came to herself. Unfortunately when she does, as in boarding school when she met Ben, now Serena married to Steven, who like Ben is wrong man for her! Producers really no one is interested to watch Serena and Stephen, it is totally wrong! Serena should be with Dan, and they have to inflamed again their love but not in the last episode!

Never b4 have I seen a raunchier action and that too right in the middle of "it" - it was way too. And why so much focus on nudity.
