Smash

Smash has added yet another impressive name to its second season roster.

Jesse L. Martin, whose Broadway credentials include a run on Rent, will recur in early 2013 on the NBC musical as Scott Welker, an Artistic Director of a theater company.

According to Deadline, the character will possess history with a couple of our characters and may get involved with Debra Messing’s soon-to-be-single Julia.

Martin - also well known for his stint on Law & Order - joins such Smash Season 2 guest stars and regulars as Sean Hayes, Daniel Sunjata, Jeremy Jordan, Krysta Rodriguez and Jennifer Hudson.

A revamped version of the series will premiere in January.
