Andy Samberg has left Saturday Night Live, but the funny man will soon be returning to television.

Deadline confirms that the actor has signed on to star in an an untitled Fox pilot from Parks and Recreation creator Michael Schur. The single-camera sitcom will revolve around a group of detectives in a precinct on the outskirts of New York City.

Samberg will play the lead.

“Andy’s hilarious, and he was the first guy we thought of when we designed the part,” said Schur and co-creator Dan Goor. “From the moment we mentioned his name, everyone at Universal Television and Fox was 100% on-board. Andy loved the pitch, and it all came together really quickly. We couldn’t be happier.”

Hey, we're just glad this isn't a small screen remake of That's My Boy.
