Fox has made it official: the network has a pair of new comedic hits on its hands.
A full season has been ordered of both The Mindy Project (nine additional episodes) and Ben and Kate (six additional episodes), Kevin Reilly (Chairman of Entertainment, Fox Broadcasting Company) announced today in a statement.
“Ben and Kate and The Mindy Project have everything we want to stand for in comedy: smart writing, hugely appealing casts and comedy that feels contemporary and real - which is why we’re confident they will continue to build on what is already an appointment comedy night for young, influential audiences on Tuesdays,” said Reilly.
Ben and Kate, which centers on a brother and sister raising the latter's daughter, airs at 8:30 p.m. EST, while The Mindy Project, which focused on an OB-GYN and her search for love, follows at 9:30 p.m. EST.
