Gossip Girl Season 5: Share Your Favorite Moments!

Oh Gossip Girl. Please don't leave us. We love you so hard.

In honor of repeats airing for the first time on the Style network, and the final season airing this fall on the CW, TV Fanatic is taking a look back at the series that's given us so many great memories over the years.

Last week, we reflected on Gossip Girl Season 4, a turbulent year by any measure. Today, we ask you to share your memories of the show's fifth season and all its ups, downs, highs, lows and controversies ...

A Dan and Blair Photo

Gossip Girl Season 5 began in Los Angeles when a re-energized Chuck and Nate decided to pay Serena a visit. Nate made the acquaintance of Elizabeth Hurley's Diana Payne, and Chuck nearly had a brush with death.

He's still pining for Blair, of course, as his true love is planning to marry Louis - and learns she is pregnant. The identity of the father remained a secret for some time, as did the mystery of why she'd marry Louis.

Back in New York, Dan learned that Vanessa - having been booted off the show - published one chapter of his novel as a parting shot. Inside then became a hit, but his Upper East Side pals weren't thrilled with it.

Chuck and Blair on Her Wedding Day

Gossip Girl Season 5, like Seasons 3 and 4 before it, featured Chair coming thisclose to getting together, only to have fate intervene. Or most notably, in this case, a car crash that caused her miscarriage and his near death (again).

As a result of the crash, Blair also makes a pact with God that she will marry Louis ... which she does, but only after her true feelings are revealed on video just moments earlier, at which point the prince turns on her.

It was all a bit convoluted, and that wasn't even the half of it. Following the demise of her loveless union, Blair and Dan plunged into a full-on romantic relationship, probably the most controversial arc in series history.

Love them or loathe them, everyone had an opinion on Dair.

The season also focused on Nate running the New York Spectator, a celebrity gossip site, and on Chuck's quest to find his real parents, which leads him to the shocking discovery that Bart is actually still alive.

Shortly thereafter, Bart turns on him, wresting back control of the Bass empire. At the end of the season, B makes a choice between Dan and Chuck and so does Lily between Rufus and Bart. In both cases, the latter won.

Ivy's web of lies finally unraveled, thanks to the addition of the real Charlotte Rhodes (a.k.a. Lola). The two briefly joined forces in the interest of perpetrating a classic Upper East Side scheme; their future is uncertain.

We also very briefly saw Gossip Girl ... or was it a dude?

Serena was last seen leaving town, friendless and senseless, while Dan decides to write a new book about the Upper East Side, with the help of Georgina, which brings us to where we are today, leading into the final season.

Chuck and Bart Photo

All in all, the 2011-12 campaign was not Gossip Girl's best. We can all agree on that, as well as the fact that it was the show's most polarizing. Despite some high points, we're happy to turn the page and move forward.

What's your most vivid memory of Gossip Girl Season 5? Favorite episode? Favorite moment? Most heartbreaking moment? Biggest disappointment? We want to hear from you as we gear up for the big farewell.

honestly i'm so happy the safran seasons are done. season 5 was one of my least favorites, not enough chair. i hope this next season gives gossip girl the proper send off that it deserves.

By the way my favorite moments were Chuck crying in bed with monkey and even though Ive always been a chair fan Dan giving Blair her last princess moment on the steps of the met is my second favorite moment dont hate lol

if blair had ran off with chuck instead of dan and serenas arc was blairs with nate in chucks place season five couldve been great

Blair making a pact with God was the only way Safran could seperate Blair and Chuck after after having them get together in the midseason finale and then turning Louis into a villan to end that relationship and then instead of putting Blair back with Chuck he had her pursue Dan going as far as having her say that chuck doesnt have my heart anymore you do five or six episodes after her declaration of love to Chuck was way to rushed it felt forced and out of character then recreating Blair and Chuck moments for Blair to share with Dan was insulting to the fans if done correctly dair wouldnt have been so polarizing

Season 5 was very very boring. I only liked a few episodes.
-Serena's fashion was awesome.!
-I didn't really love Blair's fashion this season
-Serena was very annoying. She turned on her sister and everyone else, they had no clue where to take her this season.
-Dair was cute until they became a couple.
-Lily.....NO WORDS.
-I loved Georgina in season 1 she was a badass. Now she's kind of a crazy badass.
-I'm proud of Nate, he's finally more than someone's boyfriend or crush.
-Diana was awesome at first.
-I wish that would've gotten Isobel to be one of the bridesmaids, so disappointing.

Carol another one and William. Cece, we luv U and we always remember U RIP. Serena was irrelevant again. I hope GG is full recovered 'coz I'd like a better season! I WANT A GOSSIP GIRL MOVIE!

I loved the idea of Dair, but when it became a reality it sucked so badly! Also princess drama!(from her hair in her wedding day U could see it: all sucked, ruined, done!) Lola made me nerveous, speak so rapidly like on crack! I'd start to like Ivy then realise she wasn't who she claimed to be and her schemes were stupid. All this season went around money! I know they're uppereastsiders, but this all show pretend to go deeper than that. Why they bring back Louis from Paris and his mom/sister/priest? It was a waste of budget,it would be more useful to develop Serena-Dan-Blair-Chuck square!!!and don't make start with Non-dead Bart! Was a shit! Man you abandoned your only son and wife, an empire for coming back later when all is solved?! liked the G comeback, the only thing I can remember and I can save. Nate thinking for himself are u kidding? Poor Rufus. Poor Dan. This was an unequal battle for them: Bass men vs Humphreys men. Whose would remain? The richer of course. Goldigger Lily and Carol. Cece RIP, we always gonna miss you!And Serena was sad and irrelevant as always. Blair was a wreck and the 5th season in general. We almost lose Gossip Girl, I hope she/he is full recovered now. I'll still watch, even when I didn't want to, Id have to.I have to watch the end of GG. I want a GOSSIP GIRL MOVIE!!!

Although I loved Dair, this season sucked big time. Even Dair didn't fix it for me. But, if I had to choose, I liked Dan and Blair at the airport, cause we saw some classic Blair in that ep, and we needed that. Also, bc Dan finally grew a pair and told her she can't treat him like he's a nobody. And she finally admitted that she appreciates him.

Since that heinous, dumbfounded, atrocious and the mother of all fuckups for a season finale?
Uhhm...... let's think, NONE whatsoever!
And this should be the catch phrase when they will try and sell all the 6 seasons on DVD: "Gossip Girl - We are leaving plot holes the size of North America and a dumbfounded mind behind, we shit you not! Buy the complete series for only 99.99"

And who am I? That's one secret I'll never tell ... You know you love me. XOXO, Gossip Girl

Gossip Girl

[to Jenny] That's the thing. You need to be cool to be queen. Anne Boleyn thought only with her heart and she got her head chopped off. So her daughter Elizabeth made a vow never to marry a man. She married a country. Forget boys. Keep your eye on the prize, Jenny Humphrey. You can't make people love you, but you can make them fear you. For what it's worth, you're my Queen. I choose you.
