@b : actually, in the books nate doesn't choose himself - S and B make the decision for him. THEY chose each other. the producers say they think nate would focus on his career at this point, and i think it's not very far-fetched that he'd get rid of Sage at some point. introducing a new girlfriend in those brief few seconds of the flash-forward would be too complicated.

i'm watching over again all the seasons, and now i know Dan is gg, in many times it makes no sense!! Because he gets surprised about the gg blasts, or maybe because he is doing something else at the same time gg is uploading information, in a moment i thought maybe J was helping him, but an example: 4x03 he was taking care of milo, and he was publishing all that information about s & b in their first day at columbia, and the location of Georgina at the same time he was looking for her??? i just don't get it, sometimes i doubt that the plan was Dan to be GG from the begining :S
Rate the finale - I'm giving it a 9. It all felt rushed as hell, but the ending was perfect.
I have to say the finale was kind of great. Happily ever after for everyone. Chair was all I cared about and their ending was everything I ever hoped for. Plus I'm really happy with how they ended Nate's story. He's THE MAN :)
I honestly can't believe "GG" is over... my life is gonna be weird without it...
Favourite scene - the whole "5 years later" scene. Especially little Henry, that kid was adorable. Calling Chuck "daddy"? Yeah, I cried.
Favourite quote - pretty much everything that came out of Jack Bass' mouth. Why, WHY couldn't we have more of him this season?
Dan as GG - I wasn't really surprised, because I was hoping for it. HELL YEEEEES! The "how it all began" scene was totally awesome!
Chair moment - From the finale? "It was all Blair". I will love them forever.
Derena - it came a little bit out of nowhere this season, but the ending was beautiful, so I'm cool with it.
Best outfit - Blair's dress in the final scene. MY. DEAR. GOD. She looked AMAZING.
Jenny and Eric - I'm just glad they were here.

In the books Nate is unable to choose between Blair and Serena so he chooses himself ending the series alone which in my opinion having him end up alone is a nod to

Based on the mess Safran left them with, which they are/were partially responsible for, this season was an improvement. People say the characters regressed and had no growth. Blair had her schemes blow up in her face and she finally realized that she could succeed without doing so, Serena stopped blaming everyone including Gossip Girl for her mistakes and stopped running away, Nate who was declared the future of the Vanderbilt's by his grandfather embraced his heritage and decided to run for Mayor of New York and obviously decided to focus on himself instead of a relationship, Chuck became a doting dad, and Dan admitted to be Gossip Girl which is growth since Nate told him his New Year's resolution should be to stop lying to his friends which is what he did when he came clean, and Rufus and Lily realize that their difference couldn't be overcame (overcome)

I would give this episode a 10 and the season a 7/10. Of the 10 episodes only 3 were bad High Infedility Dirty Rotten Scandals and Portrait of a Lady Alexander. However Dirty Rotten Scandals had some of my favorite Chuck and Blair scenes and quotes You read me like tea leafs Chuck Bass and them spooning with her under and him on top of the duvet.

I'm so torn about who is to blame for the Dair debacle. While watching the Gossip Girl Turns 100 bonus feature on the fifth season DVD set Josh Safran who wrote the majority of the best Chuck and Blair centric episodes from season 2 claims Chuck's arc that season with him saying those 3 words 8 letters to Blair is his favorite and he feels close to it and if that's how he felt then why did he make Dair happen which by the way I had no problem with during the fourth season but I hated during the fifth season if they or him were going to have it happen it should have happened during the fourth instead of bringing back lipsy Louis. By the way EW claims he is doing great on Smash well at least the first 3 episodes anyway

By the way, I new the moment Rufus and Lily started having problems and she choose Bart over him that the writers did so so that when Serena and Dan reunited they wouldn't be step siblings and I'm glad that they never brought Scott back having them share a sibling was a silly obstacle

When Serena was Gossip Girl she set a timer to have the blast uploaded at certain time which helps explain how it can be done sure there are some plot holes but it had to be one of the Humphrey's why else would they even be on Gossip Girl's radar two Brooklyn nobody's being mentioned on a site about wealthy Upper East Siders and he did say Jenny knew so I take that as she helped him when he needed help if you hate the show why are you still talking about it

The crack-iest storyline in history, well it makes sense witht this shame for a show and with that untalented moron in charge a.k.a Stephanie Savage. Dan Humphrey as GG. Really Humphrey? You compared Serena (supposedly your "great lov") to Lindsay Lohan? You sent all those tips to yourself? You actively shipped Nate/Serena as the "golden couple"? Bitch please.
Even if you watch the pilot, Dan as Gossip Girl makes no sense. GG was sending out blasts while he was on his date with Serena -- from what, his no-Internet phone? And the blasts that Gossip Girl sends out refer to Jenny as Chuck's next victim. Oh yeah, Dan's making pithy comments when his sister's about to be raped!

When Humphrey is posting as I hate Humphery in the twitter war with his book agent she says your good at that he says I've been at this awhile that was episode 9 of the fifth season so the writers knew from at least the beginning of the fifth season he was G.G. I'd say they knew sometime during the fourth season

After watching the season as a whole I think the writers and producers did a decent job sure some the of the plots developed slowly and Sage and Steven Spence took up too much screen time but the only really glaring error that I can think of is the music that was played during Bart and Chuck's rooftop confrontation I personally got it and the way that it tied in with Blair's Audrey Hepburn Charade dream as did naming her child Henri which is also from Charade. If the actress that played Sage had given some effort or the casting department went a different route then I would've enjoyed the writers attempt at bringing Constance back

The first half of the episode focused in Chuck and Blair and their wedding the flash forward show Dan and Serena about to get married the wedding wasn't showed so how do people get that because Derena's wedding happened at the end they were the shows epic love story
