Alphas: Canceled by Syfy

by at . Comments

Alphas will no longer be fighting crime for Syfy. The network announced last night that it has canceled this drama after two seasons.

A Dangerous Young Alpha

Anchored by David Strathairn, Alphas centered around a group of individual with extraordinary mental and physical abilities. Said Syfy in a statement:

“Syfy has decided not to renew Alphas for a third season. We’ve been proud to present this entertaining, high-quality series for two seasons and to work with an incredible ensemble of talented actors, producers and creatives as well as our partners at BermanBraun Television. We’d like to thank the show’s dedicated regular viewers for their tremendous support.”

Yesterday, Lifetime also announced it has canceled Drop Dead Diva.

Too bad. The Gary character was a groundbreaker, and though the doctor character had gone seriously astray by end of season 2, the rest of the characters were starting to come into their own. Meanwhile, the relentless push for low quality filler between commercials marches forward at SyFy.

That is terrible news. The show was awesome and left on a complete cliffhanger. Seriously hacked off!
