We waited so long for a new episode...and this is what we got? The writers really tarnished Vincent's character for me. He really did act like a lying jerk and I wish Catherine would've called him on it. I really hate that he lies to Catherine, especially after all the risks and sacrifices she has taken for him. He treats her like piece of dirt as soon as the Ex rolls around. And referring to Catherine as his "handler"?? He never apologized for that or anything he did to Catherine in this episode which I found so disappointing. He doesn't even say anything to Catherine about his Ex, Catherine had to find all of that on her own! Way to man up, Vincent! The writers better know what they are doing, there are a lot of upset fans out there.

this review states perfectly my feelings. Why would he lie to her...and the whole time he had Cathrine running around while she was hurt what a jerk! This was completely unacceptable! I hate this whole Alex thing I get that he's gonna make mistakes but really he completely tried to trick her into thinking she did somethingwrong and he did nothing wrong. That's such a jerk move!!!! He should have at least apologized for calling her his handler..

Just because two people have different skin tone and hair color doesn't mean their facial structure isn't similar. Cat and Alex are very striking and similar.
I don't envy Vincent at all, but had to draw the line at lying to Cat and blaming any chasm between them on her. He has to figure out where things stand with Alex, and needs to let Cat go in order to do that.
It will be painful for us to watch, for sure.

I liked the episode and then I didn't like it. I waited so long for it and then to see the two people that I want to see getting closer in (maybe) a love relationship now looks frustratedly complicated. I don't particular like love triangles and Vincent acting the way he did (out of character) is not making me feel good at all. I want Vincent with Cat! I hope they don't drag out the episodes full of Alex.

I enjoyed this episode. I thought it showed a lot of inner conflict that was well played. Life isn't always easy and we don't always do the right thing on our first try. For me the writing where Vincent had to let Catherine be helped by Evan because he "couldn't get back to being me" and remained the beastly Vincent vs. the fact he turned right back into himself in the throws of Alex being threatened so he could shoot a gun showed who his heart belongs to... Catherine. Sure, they will both make mistakes along the way. Show me a relationship that is deep and works and you can bet there has been forgiveness along the way. I do not mind a slow burn in getting these two together, in fact, I am enjoying it. It is letting us see who these character are. Let's have a couple of verses before we get to the chorus.

The whole episode was a great roller coaster ride (exhausting, but great). I can kinda forgive Vincent for acting a bit "out of character" in that he's just be thrown for a complete loop! Seeing Alex had to be completely shocking for him. I can understand the lying to Alex. But to Cat? No, that's just not on! I think he's kinda fallen into some quicksand right now, and is gonna panic a bit, going back and forth between Alex and Cat before he figures out which way is the best way FORWARD..... and we all know that's gonna be with Catherine. Feelings and emotions are gonna get stepped on all around, as he goes through the process, but in the end I think this all makes for one HELL OF A KISS AND MAKE UP!!

Read the Jay Ryan interview on this page. Doesn't seem like the "ex" is leaving the picture anytime soon. Seems like all the romance we'd hoped for is with her and NOT Catherine. I thought JT would've been "rooting" for him & Cat instead. No mention there on how Cat is feeling over all this. I thought those two were becoming "buds"! Waited weeks for the show to return. Such a total "180" on Vincent's feelings! Hope all these different writers know what they're doing. Still hoping for better outcome between 2 leads.

While there are many mixed reactions by fans to this episode (some likes, many dislikes) there seems to be an almost universal problem with Vincent lying to Cat. It was completely out of character for him and will be one big problem that the writers are going to have to address. He simply can't be a D-bag in this episode and then be all "I'm sorry - please forgive me" to Cat sometime later on in the next few episodes (presumably after going on a date with the Ex, getting arrested b/c of her, seeing her naked and going on a romantic getaway [all spoilers that are probably available on this site]. It will be one tough sell for Vincent to become a Class-A hero again.

Catherine is fovever my fave character. She's got a heart of gold and she's so strong. She's bleeding all over the place and she still wants to help out the damn ex. Kristin Kreuk is such a great actress. She plays hurt so well - gosh how can she convey so much emotion w/her beautiful eyes! I can't stand seeing Cat hurt and she deserves better than this Vincent.

This episode was writen by a man which explains Vicent's behavior! He shouldn't told them each the truth straight away. Alex thinks he's just he same ol' Vince with a war scar! Better come clean on the "other half" buddy. Will she want you then?? He didn't have to kill he stalker guy either. Another mess for Cat. Evan is hiding something from his past. Changed the subject in a hurry about his "doctoring skills". JT will have his guard up with Evan. Cat won't wait for Vincent. Guess we won't be getting that kiss from them anytime soon! Too bad. I want them to be together. Cat & Alex look nothing alike by the way. Tall, pale red head -vs- petite brunette.

This was a great episode for a return and I enjoyed it but Vincent just kept lying to alex and to cat which is so not cool. I think Evan and JT partnership is going to be good they can help each other out and uncover a lot more than they would by themselves. Can't wait for the next episode.

I do feel slightly bad for Vincent. He didn't want to hurt Alex and he didn't want to jeopardize what he had with Cat. But he shouldn't have lied...that was not fair.

Am I the only one who thinks that Evan might be linked in some way to Muirfield?
Definitely very out of character for Vincent to lie to Cat. Wasn't so crazy about that. Vincent's whole character was out of sync this episode...

Firstly Cat didn't let him off, she told him to figure out how he feels before jumping into a relationship with her. I feel sorry for her though, having to deal with possibly being a back-up. Then again, Vincent is going through alot too; he's stuck between two women that he loves and it could drive him insane.
I really do adore both Cat and Alex, but Vincent has to choose Cat.

Well, I might be in the minority, but I like that Vincent was a d-bag for once. It gave him more than just the "I want to be good but my DNA is changing" spin. He has layers, he makes mistakes about women (what guy doesn't?), and he's confused. I think it makes him more believeable, that he had a life before Muirfield. I WILL say that final scene on the fire escape was annoying. No apology? She lets him off? He's like "yeah I'm a bad boy, oh well"? That kind of irked me. Otherwise, the rest of the episode was spot on. :-)

Yeah, I knew from the moment they mentioned bringing in an ex-fiance for Vincent, that it was going no where good. Vincent was a total jerk, and now I'm afraid that Cat is going to wait around to see what happens with him and Alex, which is also lame. No one should have to wait around to be someone's fallback. So annoyed... Seemed like there were finally going to get the series running. Looks like it's just a lost cause.

Yea, I have to say that Vincent was kind of a jerk in this episode. Cat handled it very well though I thought. I like Evan, but I just don't like him with Cat. I think that he cares a lot about her...but if he ever found out about Vincent that he would probably betray him in order to 'protect' Cat (and out of a little bit of jealousy).
