Chyler Leigh Joins NBC Comedy Pilot

Lexie lives! Sort of.

Chyler Leigh, whose character's death is still being mourning by Grey's Anatomy fans everywhere, has signed on for Holding Patterns, a multi-camera NBC comedy pilot.

A Lexie Grey Image

According to Michael Ausiello of TV Line, Leigh will portray one of a group of friends who - irony alert! - survive a plane crash and find their lives altered as a result.

Leigh's Lexie, of course, died from a plane crash to close Grey's Anatomy Season 8.

The new sitcom still have to be ordered to series, of course, and will be produced by Rachel Kaplan (Do No Harm) and Peter Traugott (Samantha Who?).

oh finally Jarod, you finally got it too. It's not the actors, it's our dear Shonda, read "dear" with sarcasm. She's getting rid of the most talented actors so she could keep this series alive at the expense of its quality. Lesson learned the hard way, next time when I like/love a character I'll try to enjoy and breathe in every moments. "Cause it might be all gone tomorrow" (season five finale speech)

I love Chyler, but this situation is so Katherine Heigl. Leaving your job after 5 years to spend more time with family only to return to work less than a year later? Once again, something is up in Shondaland.
Also, the irony of her new acting job has left me in hysterics.
