Hart of Dixie Review: The Disappointment

by at . Comments

In "The Gambler," Hart of Dixie fans witnessed the most amount of drama we have seen on Hart of Dixie Season 2.

And I can honestly say this was my least favorite episode of the entire series. Not because it was dramatic - but because everyone was out of character.  Prepare for a short review, in fact, as I don't have many nice things to say about tonight.

Tom and Wanda Engagement

Let me begin with the main storyline of Wade and Zoe. Can we have one episode where they are not having relationship problems?!? I mean, it seems that all they do is fight and then make up in some adorable way in the end. If all they were going to do was disagree and apologize, then why put them together in the first place? Their relationship seems more negative than a positive at this point.

Secondly, after all of the character growth that Wade has made this season, all it took was the second half of one episode to throw it down the drain. Did Zoe push too far? Maybe. But in the end all she wanted was for him to be able to follow his dream. Wade's reaction? Getting drunk, ruining the set, having a pity party for himself and then leaving with another woman. What the hell is that all about? Seriously? After how far he's come to be a better person, the writers throw all away just like that?

Such a disappointment. If you're going to break them up, you don't have to sacrifice maturity to do so. Wade is better than that - it almost feels like a slap in the face to those fans who adore the guy.

Moving on to Lemon... Just like Wade, she was way out of character tonight. The "new" Lemon that has been developing would have forgiven Annabeth by now because she is above being childish. I thought she was headed to being a strong, independent woman? It saddens me to see my favorite character act like such a child and hold a grudge like she is.

Another character who seemed out of it was Annabeth. Yes, she has always been VERY loyal to Lemon and their friendship but the moment she decided to be with Lavon was the moment her character changed. She made a grown up decision, now it's time to deal with the consequences. I knew that this was going to happen unfortunately. In the end, I really hope that Lemon and her resolve their issues and find happiness.

The only part I enjoyed was Tom and Wanda. Let's all be real honest - these two are the most adorable couple on Earth. Fake or not, I want to go to this wedding! They are so in love that it's sickening! I mean that in a good way, of course. I cannot wait to see their wedding and see Debra Jo Rupp guest star as Wanda's mom! Love these two!

Overall this episode wasn't that enjoyable. It doesn't matter to me if Wade slept with that woman or not, the damage has already been done.

I don't know the intent was there just because he passed out before the act doesn't make it any better. Now if he had stopped himself before going all the way and told the girl that he can't do it because he loves someone else then leave that would makes it better. because he faced temptation when he is in a dark place and his love for her is strong enough prevent him committing the act that would hurt her now that's romatic. I think his brother is cuter anyway :}

I just thought of something. Wouldn't it be great if Wade just honestly thinks he slept with the girl he left with because he woke up in her bed but doesn't really remember. And George runs into the girl and makes a comment about how shitty it was and she says what are you talking about me and Wade didn't sleep together because he passed out. I know I'm reaching here but I really hate the show right now for doing this to Wade.

I feel terrible. Wtf! I love Wade. Why did they have to make him do that? Wade's not perfect but he always comes through for people. I'm just sick about it. Zoe and Wade helped each laugh at their short comings and somehow made each other better people and to me that's what relationships are all about. It makes you stronger. I truly hope the writers don't leave it like this. Very disappointed in KC. Badly done HoD writers...badly done.

You had to go and ruin it! Y'all better make up a really good plan to get Zoe and wade back together. I was really sick of watching Zoe pine after George . I have loved wade from the beginning! Zoe and wade are the best part of the show and I will stop watching if they don't reconcile., I have really enjoyed this season. If y'all had talented writers you could think of more story lines to pump up the story line. I refuse to watch George and Tanzie . Talk about a stupid move,

Side note, I've always adored what Wade's father Earl can bring to the show as a character but whenever I see him take part in a flash mob, all I wonder is "what the hell am I watching?" It makes zero sense that that man would be involved in a flash mob and only slowly chips away at a quality created character.

(Continued...) my eyes out watching it. Instead I'm being infuriated by silly out of character events. The concept that the writers COMPLETELY MISSED is that EVERYBODY feels like a fraud (insert: the fraud police speech) so Zoe could've been able to relate to Wade not feeling good enough because EVERYBODY has moments where they feel like they're not good enough. But instead... let's just throw in a cheating scandal, that's clever writing, right? Anyway, we'll see what this weeks ep has to offer :/

Yeah, I'm with Kate on this episode - "Can we have one episode where they are not having relationship problems?!? I mean, it seems that all they do is fight and then make up in some adorable way in the end." Exactly. My sister-in-law and I talk about the show and we both agree that they're not very good at writing an actual couple. They constantly need to find drama for them and the drama is forever negative. I swear to god these writers need to break out their box set of 'Friends' and take notes on Monica and Chandler (even that would probably be too difficult for them to change out events to relate to Zoe and Wade). It just makes no sense for his character who is madly in love with her to see a another woman and just go... yep, let's do this. No. It's easy writing... that's all it is. To give them a chance to both act out a scene where it's truly difficult for Wade to explain his fears to Zoe, push for both actors to show their acting skills... and for me to sit there crying my eyes out watching it. Instead I'm being infuriated by silly out of character events. The concept that the writers COMPLETELY MISSED is that EVERYBODY feels like a fraud (insert: the fraud police speech) so Zoe could've been able to relate to Wade not feeling good enough because EVERYBODY has moments where they feel like they're not good enough. got cut off...
know Wade left with the other woman and did not say anything to her about it. Also, very anxious to see the confrontation between George and Wade about the events of the previous night

Overall I enjoyed with the exception being at the end when Wade left with the other woman and Zoe's facial expression when she got there and realized that she had missed the whole show, that Wade lost, and he had left already. It made me so sad and broke my Zade loving heart. I agree with everyone that says part of being supportive and helping someone acheive their dream is telling them honestly what is or is not working, which is exactly what Zoe was doing when she told Wade how bad Meatball sounded. I loved the scene where she gave him the neon bar sign, it was so sweet yet sad at the same time because the facial expression he had when looking at it. Loved the Zombie Flah Mob wedding proposal scene between Tom and Wanda. It was cute and quirky just like they are. Definitely on pins and needles for this week's episode to find out what happens to Zoe and Wade. Very excited for the wedding though! Also, very curious to find out if Zoe will learn that George and Tansy know Wade left with the other woman but did not say anything to her about it. I am also looking forward to the confrontation between George and Wade about the events of the night before

Honestly the episode wasn't that horrible, and Wade acted like expected, every episode he does something immature. Zoe was being honest which is what you do when you love someone, and Wade didn't even care to listen to her opinion.
