Showtime has released a new promo for Dexter Season 8.

Following a trailer that paid tribute to the dead, the latest preview doesn't reveal any footage from upcoming episodes... but it does tease a darker version of our favorite serial killer, someone whose Dark Passenger is no longer such a secret and someone who looks ahead at the Miami landscape and thinks:

It won't be pretty.

GULP.

Dexter Season 8 premieres on June 30 at 9 p.m.
