“Vikings is a win win for us,” said History executive Dirk Hoogstra in a statement. ”As our first scripted series, it has paid off in a big way with critical acclaim, strong ratings and a passionate, loyal fan base. It came out of the gate strong and has stayed on top, solidifying History as a major player in the scripted genre, just as we are in reality. We could not be more proud of the entire cast and crew and everyone involved.”

Season 2 will debut some time next summer.

this is awesome news !!... such a good show that TV Fanatic does not cover :/ ... I personally would love to see you guys review this show.

Wow! History channel is showing a lot of confidence since only 4 or 5 episodes have been shown of the first season. I think it's great...sets and costuming are well done and I'm totally captivated by the narrative.
