The CW Cancels Cult

by at . Comments

Let the question officially begin: When will Matt Davis return to The Vampire Diaries?!?

The CW has cancelled Cult, a move that comes as no surprise after the network relegated this Davis and Robert Knepper-anchored series to Friday nights after just two episodes.

The drama was in the unusual position of premiering in February, while many also wondered why The CW paired it with Hart of Dixie, a show with a very different fan base.

"Sadly true," creator Rockne S. O'Bannon Tweeted of the news. "CW Execs once called the last 5 episodes 'outstanding.' I guess too outstanding. You are great, SMART fans. Thx to u all!"

There are no plans to air these installments, however, as returns of The Carrie Diaries and Oh, Sit are scheduled over the next three Fridays.

I do know how you fans feel though !.

CW is good about leaving fans hang. I was not a big fan of Cult, but I watched it and hoped it would pick up speed. I thought it was slow and just boring. The Secret Circle page on Facebook has over 875,000 fans and they cancelled it and left everyone hang with so many unanswered questions. Might consider a station that cares about fan base !!.

Don't think there's any hope for that. He left because of continuing differences with the writers/producers and wasn't happy at all with the way they handled his character, so...

CW Execs once called the last 5 episodes 'outstanding.' [...] There are no plans to air these installments, however[...] What? They don't even air what they already got? Wow. That's really disappointing.

This show should have been shopped to the cables like A&E or TNT. The CW just does not have the market for a show like this. The level of writing is admittedly better than other shows but the premise is a little disturbing and if you are not one of those people who go for avant garde shows it will just be terrible n get canned...

I watched the show. It was quite well done.Yes the start was a bit off. but they tapped into something and it got really interesting. The cast was pretty good, Alona Tal really had something and the chemistry between Jessica and Mathews was awesome. BUt with the following airing now it's just a bad copy or so. This half season thing isn't really working for CW.
