HBO Orders Gay-Themed Series Starring Jonathan Groff

Jonathan Groff is on his way back to television.

The Broadway star and former recurring player on Glee will anchor an untitled dramedy on HBO.

It will focus on a trio of friends residing in San Francisco and delve into “the fun and sometimes overwhelming options available to a new generation of gay men," according to the official network synopsis.

Production will begin this fall on location in California, with Frankie J. Alvarez (Smash) and Murray Bartlett (Guiding Light) on board as the other two regulars.
