A day after Showtime confirmed that The Borgias would end after Season 3, its cable counterpart has made a similar announcement:

Eastbound & Down will wrap up after its upcoming fourth season, which bows on September 29.

The Danny McBride-anchored comedy stars the actor as a former Major League Baseball hurler whose life in his North Carolina hometown has never lived up to his experience in the big leagues.

When we last saw Kenny Powers, he had faked his own death in order to reunite with the mother of his child - and, according to an HBO press release, the final season will involve a major time jump:

“The upcoming fourth season picks up the action several years later and finds Kenny living the American Dream with his family in North Carolina."

Why do we somehow doubt things will go that smoothly for Mr. Powers?
