Natalie Zea to Head Under the Dome

Fans of The Following may need to wait until next season to learn the fate of Claire Matthews, but we can now confirm the future of her portrayer:

Natalie Zea is headed to CBS.

The busy actress - who still plays a role on Justified as well - has been cast in a "continuing" role on Under the Dome, as teased by executive producer Neal Baer to William Keck of TV Guide Magazine.

Look for Zea to make "an alarming appearance in a few episodes beginning in Episode 9," Baer said. "She plays Maxine, and if you think [the show's big baddie] Jim Rennie (Dean Norris) is trouble, you haven't seen trouble yet. And she'll be connected to a number of our characters."

Under the Dome kicks off on June 24 and is based on a Stephen King novel of the same name. It centers on a New England town that suddenly finds itself surrounded by a shield of some kind.

We've seen the first episode, TV Fanatics. It's terrific.

I’m excited that there are going to be new characters under the dome, and I’m curious to find out Maxine’s purpose for hiding out. I’ll definitely be setting up my DISH Hopper to record the season when this show premieres, so I won’t miss out on the answer. I record the seasons of shows I watch, so I don’t fall behind with my busy work schedule at DISH. With all of the different shows I watch, I really appreciate having 2,000 hours of storage space.

I don't watch The Following because I don't like Kevin Bacon's face. I will watch Natalie Zea on Under the Dome. Good job Natalie!

This is fantastic news for NZ fans, of which I am one. I don't like the show The Following, it's ludicrous and lame, even idiotic at times. The ONLY reason I watched was for Natalie's character. The writers on the show were so goofy on The Following that it was hard to watch. Here's hoping that Under the Dome will be cool and that Natalie's character will have some good writing attached. I also like Natalie in Justified.
