Bill Campbell is headed to Syfy.

The former star of The 4400 and The Killing will headline Helix on Syfy early next year, a new drama from Battlestar Galactica creator Ronald D. Moore.

The drama will chronicle the adventures of a Centers for Disease Control unit that heads to the Arctic to investigate an outbreak… only to wind up in a battle “that holds the key to mankind’s salvation or total annihilation," according to the official network synopsis.

According to Deadline, Campbell will portray team leader Dr. Alan Farragut, whose personal life is as big of a mess as his professional mission: his wife recently  had with his brother, the same brother who now has a possibly fatal disease.

Helix will likely premiere on Syfy in January.
