Caity Lotz Cast as The Black Canary on Arrow

Another key character has been added to Arrow Season 2.
Following the casting of Summer Glau as Isobel Rochev, The Wrap now confirms that Caity Lotz (Mad Men, The Pact) has landed the integral role of The Black Canary.
A memorable character from the comic book franchise, The Black Canary is the alter-ego of Dinah Drake. In some versions of the mythology, she is a martial arts expert with a primal scream that actually helps subdue criminals.
The crime-fighter will likely become a love interest for Stephen Amell's hooded vigilante, while Lotz could eventually be upped to series regular.
Arrow Season 2, which producer Marc Guggenheim says will feature new toys and at least one major new villain, kicks off October 9.
UPDATE: The CW President has now given more clues about this casting.
