Making its first-ever Comic-Con appearance, Once Upon a Time in Wonderland wasted little time this morning in making a huge casting announcement:

Naveen Andrews will be joining the new ABC series as Jafar, the the Royal Vizier of Agrabah and the main antagonist in Disney's Aladdin.

Upon informing attendees of this news, producers Zach Estrin, Adam Horowitz and Eddy Kitsis brought the former Lost actor on stage to join them and stars Sophie Lowe, Peter Gadiot, Michael Socha and Emma Rigby.

Kitsis said the team always had Andrews in mind for the role.

"I hope it'll be something you've never seen before, it should be," Andrews said of the show and his character.

Once Upon a Time in Wonderland premieres on Thursday, October 10 at 8 p.m.
