I really enjoyed this show I hope Deeks will stay. He is a great team member. I really love NCIS Los Angeles. All the team is great. All the team members work well together Stuart Berdy
I wonder how much longer Marcel Janvier will be on the show is he really a highlander :)
I had four wisdom teeth removed at one time. I looked like a chipmunk smuggling large nuts for three weeks. I find both Deeks's clarity of speech and his svelteness of face unbelievable so soon after dental assault such as he suffered, although regarding the speech, as he had no anesthetic, it is possible that his speech would have been unaffected by the damage and pain.
That said, I thought it was a very well-written, well-acted episode.
I thought it was a great premier. I especially liked Deeks' character development and that they didn't just immediately recover and brush off the torture as though it never happened. And yes, MrWriteSF, I had the same thought, that Deeks was sure speaking well given what he went through. And I agree that his telling Kensi that thinking of her is what got him through was a huge leap forward for him and for the two of them. My pet peeve about this show, though, is that they never have any FBI, SWAT or police back-up like the orignal NCIS does. Their tiny little team, plus Sam's wife, Michelle, is all they have to go after THREE major bad guys? And nukes are involved? Come on.
WOW....what a GREAT ep--tied off all the loose ends, with the one teeny tiny possible thread of Janvier escaping prison. Like the other posters here, Deeks vulnerable moments were well-done; nice to see he can be "human." I really felt him this ep--the confusion, the overwhelming urge to just run away... Also, Michelle's "Barbi" bit was hilarious!!!!!!
There were a few things that required suspension of disbelief though:
1. I didn't care for the opening girlfight--I found it slow and labored.
2. For someone who suffered considerable dental trauma including what I heard to be a broken jaw, Deeks sure recovered his normal speech rather quickly.
3. Viziri had both his hands SAWED off, was laying in his own blood for what could have been hours, and still fired off the word "balcony?"
Still, I wasn't disappointed by this ep (or by the premiere of NCIS--great night of TV for me).
There's a four month time jump because all shows have a real time four month time jump between season finale and season premiere. I don't think the two would be linked. I thought Deek's monologue with Kensi at the end was amazing, such a powerful moment. That was by far one of my favourite Deeks/Kensi scenes.
First off loved both NCIS and NCIS: LA's Season Premieres. The plots were complex and intricate. And a full hour of action.
But, here's what I'm wondering. Both shows have a four month time jump. NCIS--Gibbs is about to shoot what appears to be Fornell. NCIS: LA--Janvier is put in prison. Is there a major crossover on the horizon? Has Janvier and the "Brotherhood of Doubt" worked together before? Am I the only one to catch the same four month time jump?
So excited to watch this episode. It was freaking awesome. I just don't know how Michelle was able to use that curtain to climb up. Must have been very anchored to something!
Janvier has become THE villain of the series, I think its good. I hope that someone uses their brains and turns his daugther. That is the smart move.
I am so glad that Sidarov died and it was Deeks who took him down. Best momenet of the episode and my top Deeks moment. ECO was great in his episode. I am impressed.
I hope that they somehow write Kensei's pregnancy into the plot of the show. It would be different and create an even more complex Densei story.
Lastly the new opening sequence is so good!!!
